Thanks pghgrl...I understand the grades, I was wondering since north campus only has fall start...I'll be going into second semester...which they will only be starting their first semester nursing students..I was just curious on how that aspect of transferring worked. But I guess I could contact the school, although they are never too helpful. Thanks anyway

I agree...that's a great idea! Quick question, I'm at allegheny campus, 1st semester nursing...they said at orientation that you can transfer between campuses...I was thinking of transferring to north campus because it is a lot closer to home...since they i my have a fall start and I'll be in my second semester, is that still an option? What do you mean schedule lab times and testable skills...

Hey all CCAC nursing students...starting my first semester at the Allegheny campus on Monday, the 13th...I am looking at the book list they have us when we signed up for classes and am confused as what books we NEED. If you sign into the bookstore, the books listed as required are different then what is on the sheet. For example the med/surg book is listed for 437.69 as required, and on the sheet it had a different ISBN and is a totally different book...do we need both books? Also they have listed Jarvis-assessment (that's all it says) on this sheet...anyone know the ISBN for this book? If anyone can please help with a book list and/or ISBN that would be great as I see many of these books are back ordered. Thanks in advance!!

Hi!! just an FYI, I just got my nursing packet in the mail today! I got accepted to allegheny, day, for all my fellow classmates on here...

Steelersgirl86... I have been corresponding with her through email but she is very slow to reply. She received my application the 2nd week of July. I received an email saying they got it and I need to sign a "receipt" stating i got the confirmation. I followed up, being the neurotic I am, because I don't want my mistake causing me entrance into the program. She would never respond to the emails or calls so i just showed up to the office and talked to her personally. I have all my classes...then she sprung that chemistry on me. I got in contact with my high school guidance counselor to verify my chemistry had a lab. She was quick with a response and even contacted Ccac. However, I followed up with Ccac and got No answer. My chemistry (chemistry in the classroom) had lab work but it wasn't the advanced chem. it is just really annoying them not responded!!! Aug 15 is the deadline for apps and I would like to know if i should sign up for chemistry for fall semester! Or take a whole new route and go to upmc nursing or so on... Abc nursing would have been a good choice but I highly doubt I'd be able to complete it in a week! Bummed! I better get an answer tomorrow or I'm going back or writing the dean!! Thanks ladies!!

I applied to the spring 2014 program...having finished all my classes but the NUR ones...and A's/B's in my sciences...I met with the nursing coordinator today to just review my file to make sure that all my classes were good...my question is...when I first inquired about nursing at Ccac 1.5 years ago or so...I was told that my chemistry class from high school (chem com, chemistry in the classroom) would have been accepted. We only had lab a few times throughout the year...now today, I am being told that i will most likely be not eligible for the program in 2014 because it wasn't chemistry w/lab. Had anyone else ever had problems with this and Ccac advisors not being educated on what needs done? Because of this mistake, on their part, I won't be eligible until spring 2015. Classes filled for chem in fall and apps for 2014 fall need to be in by march. If I took chem jan 2014, it wouldn't be finished in time. Thanks in advance Confused and upset!
