  1. I am truly sorry for those who did not receive an award this year. I absolutely know that sucky feeling. My hope is that you all will keep at it, because eventually (4years later), it paid off for me. GOOD LUCK next year!!!
  2. lynn5707, I never understood that either, but they literally wait until the deadline of Sept 30th to announce everything. I agree that if they know, without a shadow of a doubt, that someone will NOT be awarded, they should go ahead and just shoot us down right then and there. Instead, the agony is extended out for months, for no good reason. It's very frustrating!
  3. emmiecb, I truly know how you are feeling. I really have NO idea how they pick and choose the awardees. I've seen people post higher facility scores and higher D/I ratios than mine, and have not been awarded. It makes ZERO sense. I honestly believe that if the HRSA program could at least state where you are after submitting an application, anxiety would not be as high for all of us. I hope that you do hear something, but if not, don't give up! It only took me 4 years of trying!!!
  4. So I've looked over the Welcome packet & just looked through to make sure that all of my info is correct. Other than that, I have not come across anything else that we are supposed to do. Can anyone else verify that now we just wait for deposit??
  5. Thanks so much!!! I cannot even begin to explain the devastation I felt over the last 3 years, each time I received an email saying that they were out of funds, & that I would not be receiving an award. This program causes hypertension & depression, lol! 3 years ago I was injured when a patient passed out & took me with her. Every fall since 2014 I've had to have another shoulder surgery to repair the damage. Thankfully, last year the 3rd surgery was the charm & I have full mobility back!! Unfortunately, I did not realize that HR at my facility was showing my yearly income as the same as before my surgery, when really it was surprisingly over $10,000 less, since each year I was out recovering for about 2-3 months. That was a big enough difference to put me at a higher ratio & gave me the chance to get an award! Anyhow, I'm so so thankful that this year it finally worked out. I almost didn't even try again!!! Good luck to everyone else who is still waiting! Don't give up!!! & thanks about the wedding! I'm super excited & ready to start this new chapter...Thank God it will be almost completely debt free!!!
  6. Yay! I was countersigned also, at 2:36pm by JK. :) I am so very thankful!!! I would say that this feeling is worth the 4 years of applying without success. Whew!!! I get married next month, and this award has been a HUGE financial help for our future plans.
  7. AnaLong, your CEO at your facility announced something about HRSA funds?? That is so weird! My facility barely knows what this program is all about. They just confirm that I'm an employee, but the facility itself has nothing to do with funding or the award process. I just find it odd that your CEO is so informed. You should email HRSA at the provided contact email...they seem to give you more information than when you just call the hotline. Let us know what you hear. Good luck!!
  8. My last name starts with J
  9. I received my email at 5pm EST
  10. Oh my GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I received an award email!!!!! I am thrilled!!! I can't even contain it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 148%, site 16 4 years of patiently waiting! Thank God!
  11. Ugh!!! I agree psychrn30. This has been the hardest "watch and wait" year ever! I think I'm developing chest pain from the suspense. I want to desperately hope that I still have a chance, but I'm starting to feel like I missed out again...
  12. I'm in the same boat. RN, 148%, site score 16, credit check 6/5. Still praying!!
  13. That's crazy, Schmammers! Awardees in past years received their packets within a month! Something is definitely different about this year. Have you called or emailed them?
  14. I sent an email to HRSA, hoping for a better update than what is provided when we call. Basically the email stated that the application process is lengthy, and applicants are just now starting to hear if they were awarded. On the plus side, if they are just really starting to get awards sent out, I feel a little bit more hopeful. Unfortunately though, we may have to wait until Sept 30th to find out we have been anxious for nothing and again, award funds have run out. The only 2 things that I really wish that they would change about this process, is 1- Once you submit your application, and the deadline has passed, on the program portal it should tell you what Tier you are in and what number you are in line., 2- That if funds have run out BEFORE September 30th, that they go ahead and shut it down, so people can move on with their lives. I'm super grateful that a program like this even exists, but when so many deserving public servants are in need of such a wonderful blessing, communication would go a long ways in helping with our anxiety over whether or not we will receive an award. Still desperately hoping!!!
  15. I just don't understand...
  16. I saw that there is a HRSA facebook page, and I have been trying to scan it to see if anyone has posted anything about receiving awards. Nothing so far...
  17. Something is not right. This is the WORST award turnout that I have seen in 4 years. Honestly, if they are already out of funds, they should just tell us. Beats being glued to our computers everyday. Has any RN'S heard anything yet? It's been so long since we've heard anything, I'm losing track of where they are in the process, if they aren't already finished, & we're just wasting time...
  18. I am floored that hardly anyone has heard ANYTHING!! With all of these credit checks & only a handful awards, what is going on??? I wish someone with HRSA could give us an update...
  19. I'm taking it that no one heard anything this past Friday??
  20. AnaLong- Are you referring to applicants who received the initial award and then did NOT receive the forgiveness? Or when those of us waiting to hear, finally were told we were NOT going to receive the award at all? In the last 4 years, I saw one person actually decline the award given, and I don't know of ANY applicant who was initially awarded who then did NOT receive it. So here's hoping! The last 3 years, I believe the application process ended about 9/30, when the remaining applicants received an email saying that funds were gone.
  21. CompuNurse25- I believe in previous years, awardees could look under their submitted application, and at the very end could see when their applications were signed. I'm not sure how accurate it is, but awardees would usually see a signature within 2 weeks of getting initial award. Congrats and best of luck! Also, I think within a month of countersignature, people were receiving their first payments... :)
  22. In the 4 years that I have applied, I have never seen such a huge delay in awards being granted. This is the first year that I have received a credit check (6/5), and I'm starting to feel like that won't even matter. So am I understanding correctly that the only people who have heard, were applicants in the other program? Not the Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program? I wonder why no one has heard anything in this program??? I'm trying not to have thoughts of impending doom, but... D/I - 141% Site score- 16 Ugh...I wish SOMEONE could update us!!!
  23. I have not heard anything either...
