Olivia as far as I can tell as long as you went to an accredited nursing school and take the NCLEX you can apply for a license anywhere. It may behoove you to just get a Virginia license as they are a part of the Nurse Compact which allows you to practice in 29 other states without having to jump through any additional hoops. Georgia is one of them, but Oregon is not. It is easier to get a license in some states when you are present. For example, California only takes digital fingerprints from inside the state, otherwise you have to send in a paper fingerprint card. Arizona only takes care payments made in person. Otherwise you have to mail a check (who uses checks anymore?). Good luck and congrats!

I'm very sorry you had to go through that. The movies have us believing that CPR saves people, and it does... just not very many. Fewer than 1% of people who receive CPR make it out of the hospital and live normal lives again. You did your best and it's doubtful that anything you could have done could saved this child's life. You might consider talking to a professional about this. Unresolved guilt, even undeserved, can be very unhealthy.

I'm currently a student at ITT-Canton Breckenridge SON. This program is extremely disorganized. But the problem is, so are a lot of the nursing programs out there. I think if I could have gone to another community college, I would have. As it is right now, I have contacted about 6 of the universities in the area and they will not take ITT credits, but they will accept your RN as credit. The problem is that you still need to have the pre-reqs at these universities, so you will end up taking these classes over unless you took them elsewhere. That's more time in school bc it is at least a year in classes. They integrate the pre-reqs into the program at ITT, so you will save a bundle if you transfer them in. Buyer beware, they will not let you transfer anything in after you start the program so make sure you get that done first.
