Atlanta Tech College
I just heard about Atl Tech College and wanted to see if anyone went there recently and if there is a wait list? Did you like the school, teachers? Did you go for LPN or RN?

Anyone else attending Chamberlain Atlanta in the Fall 2013?
I am looking to apply to Chamberlain. Are there certain things they look for when accepting people? Is there a wait list?

Chamberlain Atlanta
I am thinking about going to Chamberlain. I was a community college in St. Louis, but recently moved to Georgia. I want to get going and get my career going. Is there anyone on here that is/has went to Chamberlain? Pros/Cons? What are the major requirements? I just need some insight on the school. They say there isn't a wait list, is that true? Is it worth the money? I have all but two pre-reqs done, so I don't think it cost as much. Is it a good/decent school to get a nursing degree from?

I have a dilemma...
Alright, I need some insight. Here's some background on me. I am at a community college in St. Louis right now. I have been on the waiting list for 2 years. I was accepted to start last month, but I had to defer until the spring. I have a one year old and did not have anything set up for childcare. We are originally from GA and now planning on moving back in a week. Here's my dilemma... I have a overall GPA of 2.9 Science GPA of 2.0 The TEAS is not required to be taken before you apply. The schools here have a waiting list, it doesn't go off of GPA's and scores. You apply and then wait until your name is next. I really want to become a nurse, but I'm scared that because of my GPA, I am not going to get into a school. I mean, I could always go to Chamberlain, but that is an expensive school. Please give me some advice or your own personal experience. TIA!

Why do you?
I want to know why YOU want to be a nurse? I keep second guessing myself and I am not quite sure if I really want to be a nurse.

Doubtful
I wasn't expecting to get into nursing school this month, I was thinking it was going to be January. I have been wanting to get into the program, it was all I was thinking and talking about. Ever since I got accepted, I feel "off" about it. I have an almost 1 year old little boy, I have been home with him ever since he was born. I have this feeling of guilt because I am not going to be with him all day everyday. It seems like the closer the first day gets, the more anxious and hesitant I feel. I have been wanting to become a nurse for a while, so why do I feel doubtful? Advice? Anyone with little kids?

Give me your insight...
I am not a nurse. I will be starting my program on the 19th. I keep seeing post about how nursing isn't what it used to be or that it isn't rewarding. This actually scares me. Do you feel like nursing is a rewarding career? Does it seem to get repetitive?

Care Plans
Okay, these "Care Plans," I keep reading about are really worrying me. They seem so complicated and detailed. Has anyone done them? Are they hard to do?
-
Hospital Clinicals
My program starts Aug 19th and we start clinicals Sept 10th. The week before we are doing computer training.

Is it just me?
So, as the first day gets closer and closer, I keep getting more and more nervous about starting. My stomach starts to get knots and I feel anxious. Is this normal? I know I want to become a nurse, but man my nerves are getting the best of me. I keep having an uneasy feeling about becoming a nurse. Please tell me this will pass. I went today and bought my scrub top, four books and the duffel bag filled with supplies that we need. That is what made me very anxious, just seeing everything in the bag made it so real. The bag has a foley kit, syringes, needles, sodium chloride bottles and bags, gauze and a lot more.

Student nurse position
Okay, thanks! :)

Student nurse position
I have no idea about the pay, but I live near St. Louis. Do they require a student nurse to get through first semester before you can apply?
-
married/engaged/involved students, how are you juggling your relationship w/ school?
I agree completely. He needs to be more supportive. Did he think that nursing school was going to be easy breezy? Wake up. I am getting ready to start first semester, but I already know and so does hubby that it is going to be very stressful. We also have an almost 1 year old.
- Any STLCC students?
