  1. I also applied to the CICU Residency. Had my digital interview last Monday. I'd also applied to some other positions that I was probably not qualified for - when you get "rejected," the application status changes to "no longer under consideration," so there's still hope, buttercupp85.
  2. Just did my digital interview Monday. Looks like I'll be waiting a while to hear back.
  3. Good luck to you too. I wish I'd taken an Externship program while in school.
  4. I got my rejection email just hours after posting that. Good luck to you, though!
  5. Has anyone else applied to the Christiana residencies that start this summer? The due date was April 1st, and I haven't heard back yet.
  6. AFAIK the deadline was April 1 for all their residency programs. The application was open from Feb 27-March 27.
  7. Thanks! I've found it now. Either of you work for Christiana? If so, any advice on applying for a job there?
  8. Hi, everyone! I'll be moving to Wilmington this summer after I graduate in May. I've been looking out for the Christiana Residency programs for nurses for the June start-date. When I click on the link for the online application, it just sends me to a listing of job openings. Does anyone know if you are supposed to apply for a regular staff position, or is there a separate application for the Residency that will appear when they start taking applications for it? If it's the latter, does anyone know when the application will open up?
  9. I sent you a PM.
  10. Yes! I'm in both those classes.
  11. Yes. And yes, I am taking Chem 2.
  12. I just left it with the lady at the front desk in the nursing advising office. F had left for the day already. I'm going to email her tomorrow just to make sure she got it. But there's no issue just taking it by the office.
  13. Got my letter and I'm in for the Accelerated Program!!! Can't wait to meet you all!
  14. Mail came. No letter here either... EDIT: I also live in Kennesaw.
  15. Congrats, jlsmith21 and kcox36!
  16. Mine's usually here between noon and 1pm (now!). Of course, today they would decide to come later. Luckily, my neighbor has something in her box to send out and her flag is up, so I can see if the mail has come without walking down there every five minutes.
  17. Mail arrived, no letter. I also spoke with someone in advising today and she confirmed letters have been sent out. She also told me to give it a week (?!) to arrive... but the USPS is not *that* slow. EDIT: She also said no email will be sent out
  18. Whoever was scheduled to interview before me didn't show.
  19. I'm applying for the accelerated: Previous degree in art Teas = 94.7% Prereq GPA - 4.0 Not sure what my overall GPA is, if they factor in grades from my previous degree or not... it's not listed in Owl, just the 4.0. The question I got that threw me was at the very end she asked, "Well.... is there any question I haven't asked that you'd like me to ask?" I definitely wasn't expecting that. I turned it into an emphasis on my dedication to becoming a nurse, but it took me a minute to come up with anything.
  20. Sorry for the lateness of my reply. The questions were much more general than I expected. She didn't even ask me what qualities I thought were important in a good nurse, she just kind of jumped into some of the questions I've seen from previous years (tell me about a time you showed compassion, quick thinking, how do you multi-task, etc.). My interview lasted about 15-20 minutes, so I hope we're not scored on how long our interview was. I wonder if accelerated students got one interviewer while traditional students got two. That looks like the pattern I'm seeing.
  21. Just got home from my interview. Whew! The person before me didn't show up, so I got to go a little early. She said at the end, "I think you have all the qualities needed to be a good nurse," so that's good, right????
  22. Here was the best piece of advice she gave me: Think of every quality you think is important in a nurse, then come up with an experience you've had that shows you exemplify that quality. It seems that they now really tailor the interviews to the individual. If you say that "attention to detail" is important for a nurse to have, you had better have a story ready that shows you have that trait.
  23. Yes, it was in Prillaman Hall, and it was with the lady from the Career Services Center Team for the Wellstar College of Health and Human Services. I don't think anyone implied she didn't know anything about the nursing interviews. For me, she said they change things every semester, so it was hard to predict the format or the questions they would be asking. For example, we may be interviewed by a panel or by just a single person. One semester, they might focus more on "attention to detail" while the next it's more about "integrity." But she did say they always ask "why do you want to be a nurse" and "why should we choose you," almost as bookends to the interview.
  24. Yeah, she had trouble with the camera during my interview too, but offered that I could come by tomorrow to watch it, since she got it working today. She also said that we don't have to bring anything extra (resume, letters) to the real interview.
  25. I think we probably had the same interviewer today. She also asked about my resume, in relation to a question she had about my experiences. She said it was ok that I didn't have my resume, and didn't mention that I should bring it to the real interview. I'm going to email her later and ask, as I also had a question if letters of recommendation help or if I shouldn't bother. Were you the 2 o' clock? I may have seen you as I was leaving. My mock interview was at 1, and Career Services had emailed the wrong person, so I wasn't on her schedule. She was nice, and squeezed me in. I felt like she was distracted though.
