  1. I passed my nclex last December even though I was out of school since 2011. I think what greatly helped me was reading the entire Saunders book and answering about 50 questions a day (concurrent topic). After I was done with that, I studied Exam Cram PN which basically summarized everything. A month before nclex, I focused on doing questions alone using NCLEX MASTERY APP PN which I purchased for 30 bucks. I cannot stress enough how much it helped me during my exam. There were even questions from the app that I never encountered while reading my books! Wish you goodluck and dont forget to pray!
  2. I passed December 2015 and obtained my temporary license 2 weeks ago from BVNPT- just got hired the other day! I just showed them my temporary license. The temp license came with the date you got it and the expiration date, usually around 3 months. It will also state there that you are free to practice your license.
  3. Recently got hired at a SNF facility in my area and while I am stoked to be starting my nursing career, I am so worried to know that I will be only oriented for 2 full days. It also does not also help that I've been out of school for nearly 4 years! Is that normally how short orientations are nowadays? What should I expect? Is it okay if I ask for more orientation/shadowing? I think this SNF is severely short staffed though so I doubt it! My anxiety levels are high right now.
  4. I only studied te content area too! I would do text questions 25 every couple of hours to space it out!
  5. Thanks! my friends who took the nclex 2 years ago have me a heads up that it is indeed hard finding jobs here in California, however there were 2 job postings I saw this week that did not require experience! I will send my resume after the holidays. Crossing my fingers! Will keep you posted!
  6. Thanks! I did the PVT 24 and 48 hours post test and I got the same pop up! :) It's looking good for you! If you live somewhere near Sacramento, you'll probably get yours sooner! I got mine in 10 business days!
  7. Hello Nurses / Future nurses! I've been a member since I graduated nursing school and I promised once I pass my Nclex, I'd share my experience. I finished LVN school June 2011, however because I failed my HESI couple of times, I completely lost my spunk and confidence and was so scared to take the NCLEX. Fast forward 4 years later, I intended to study for my NCLEX May 2015. I studied the entire Saunders PN book Edition 5 and did at least 50 questions a day for 1.5 months, however things got busier over the summer break and I stopped studying. I only went back to it November 2015, a month before my actual test which was December 8, 2015. I studied the entire EXAM CRAM PN, did questions on NCLEX Mastery (the app) and read the study guide circling around here. I did those religiously everyday for 3 weeks! Some people are better off with doing questions while some understand it better when they read, I say gauge yourself and see which one works for you. Since I finished the Saunders PN, I solely dedicated my time doing questions (understand the rationale) the last couple weeks prior to my exam. If you think you need to work on your content, please invest in Saunders. They basically have everything you need. As for my exam day, my computer shut off at 85. I psyched myself so much and thought NCLEX was super hard. It was definitely doable, as long as you studied and know your basics. The SATAs though were a different story. All in all, I am happy to share that if someone like me was able to pass the NCLEX the first time after being out of school for nearly 5 years, you can too!!!
