  1. I am scrubbing so some of those ideas are great but others won't be allowed. Thanks ShariDCST for the suggestions....!
  2. Hi all- I'm about a month into my OR orientation and am just starting to get used to being on my feet, standing still, for hours. My question is can any of you recommend exercises or stretches you can do in the OR to keep the back pain away? I have a good pair of supportive shoes and socks but am not used to standing still for so long. ANY help would be greatly appreciated :bowingpur!! THANKS ALL!
  3. Ok...maybe a stupid ? but are most hospital OR's Mon. - Fri.?
  4. Wow...now THAT is the answer I was looking for!! Thank you for taking the time to answer so completly! There are things in there I wouldn't have even thought of asking. Now I know I'll be prepared for the interview.
  5. Graduation is in May and the search is on for employment. I'm trying for the OR and I have read a bunch of threads regarding possible questions the EMPLOYER may ask but how about suggestions regarding questions to ask the employer? When is it OK to bring up $? Not to mention what is the current starting salery for a new RN in the OR around the country? I'm looking for suggestions and I know of NO better place to ask. Thank for all your help!! :redpinkhe
  6. Are you currently an OR RN?
  7. I will look into it further but from what has been supplied to me, I can even sit for the test at the end of all of this. But as others have stated, I'll look into it.
  8. I have a question for all you pro's out there. I recently got accepted into a nursing program here in Maryland. They offer an LPN program over the summer to "get a leg up" for the nursing program. My question is, is this a good way to get experience and a "leg up" or are there other ways to get my hands dirty and gain some basic knowledge prior to entering the program. ANY help, or advise would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks to all!
