I was told the letters will be released October, too. At least that is consistent.=s I hope we don't have trouble getting hold of somebody when we finally get accepted. I agree that it was an expensive application and the expenses does not end there. Going back to school ain't cheap. Good luck to all of us! 1 more week of waiting to go.=)

Hi everyone! Any news on acceptance letters? I also applied for Spring 2014. I have been so far rejected by 2 schools already. My GPA is 3.4. I finished with a BSN and have just gotten a MSN in leadership and management degree but I haven't taken the GRE. I've got 2 years of RN experience. I feel like I am not doing things right because I only get pass interviews but not to the point of getting accepted. I need to see a glimmer of hope. USA is my first choice.

That is cool!I haven't tried it yet. I just got interviewed at GCU and I am still waiting for results. I will look into St. Joseph's, too. Thank you.=)

@greygooseuria: It is great to have an option like that. It'll give NPs more independence when they have received more training. Plus, it'll make one more confident and sure that they can handle cases such as those when they are presented with them.=)

@ inspiredRN10: Yeah, you are right. It must be tough to compete for a spot especially they are one of those schools where tuition is affordable and does not equal buying a house. Other schools charge like 50k-70k for an entire program.=s Let's keep in touch. It'll be fun to have somebody who will be doing the same program as I am. I hope we both get in.=) Good luck to us!!!=D I plan to work full time and then study part-time. It will be easier on my body and health and also easier for me to budget for payments. I don't want to take loans because I am thinking that I will already be in debt even before I finish school and what if I don't pass the certification as soon as I graduate...=s

To greygooseuria: a sports med class sounds awesome. Does it require one to take the MCAT before you can take it? or it is just a class sort of like a part of what sports doctors take and not the entire sports medicine program?

Thank you so much, guys. I appreciate all your response and will take your advice to heart.;-) I have only been an RN for almost 2 years. I mainly work medsurg but requested to transfer to a progressive care unit so I can be more exposed to cardiac drips and higher acuity cases to make me more prepared for fnp or acnp classes. I just want to learn more. I don't know...I just feel that there is always something lacking and so I try to challenge myself to look for answers to make myself better at bedside. I get scared whenever I am in a patient's room and I don't know how I could help them better. I have been scold at by doctors for not anticipating or suggesting what they should order because I know the patient more than they do because they are just covering for somebody. So, I thought I better know more if I want to be able to do more. I can't suggest what I don't know. I was offered to do charge on our medsurg floor but I just feel that being responsible for my co-staff RNs and CNAs and the patients on our floor isn't for me yet. I also wonder why my senior RNs won't take the job when they are more qualified than I am in terms of experience. I am sure anybody can do the paperwork charge nurses do but when a health emergency happens, experience and the effort one puts into learning and developing nursing skills counts a lot in saving a life. I am just waiting for University of Arizona to open the application submission period for Fall next year. They said they will start accepting applicants by September. Again thank you all.=D

Hi!I am planning to apply to University of Arizona's BSN DNP ACNP for Spring 2014 but I live in Nevada. Do you think they will accept me?=( Their website says BSN DNP online. I have been looking for schools that offer their classes online. I have finished an MSN with WGU this May and tried applying at Ball State but was denied because WGU does not calculate GPAs but only gives pass and fail grades. I tried applying to USA BSN DNP but I would like to have an option in case I get denied there, too.I am also looking into applying at University of Southern Indiana but they don't have a BSN DNP program...

Hello there! I am new here at allnurses...I decided to join because I have a lot of questions and don't have much network of RNs to ask. I applied for the BSN/DNP fnp/agncp dual program for spring 2014. I was wondering what are the chances of being accepted in the program? I have worked the floor for only 2 years, gpa is 3.48,have a msn in leadership and management. Any advice? I would really like to be able to get in a fnp/agncp program and the only affordable one and online one I found is USA's. Vanderbilt's program sound good too but it is expensive and I don't think it is purely online... I tried applying at Ball state but they are still trying to see if I am eligible for the msn fnp because I already have a msn but the only problem is the grading system that my school used is non-traditional Pass or Fail.
