Best community colleges for Nursing prerequisites
puffalo5, are you still taking prerequisites at NSCC, or have you entered a nursing program yet? I saw that NSCC will require being a CNA as a prerequisite now. Did you take that course there too, and if so, how did you like it? Are there any professors you would recommend? You could private message me too if you want. Thanks so much for help! :)

any RNs have their Perkins Loan cancelled?
I am new to all of this, and was told about the Perkins Loan at the community college I applied for. They said they do not participate n federal student loans and would offer the Perkins Loan if full grant aid was not available to me. Is the Perkins Loan the best option then for a pre-nursing student? I am totally new to the financial aid process and I will not be working while going to school so I was considering a student loan to help. I did not know about loans being canceled after a time. Am I correct to assume that the Perkins Loan is forgiven after you graduate if you work as an RN? Thank you for your help!

Best community colleges for Nursing prerequisites
Thank you so much for all of your comments! I didn't know about the Rate My Professor site, so that has definitely been helpful. I have also heard great things about NSCC from a friend, so I was glad to see more comments on NSCC. :)

CNA program to recommend in Snohomish County or N. King County?
I will be starting on pre-requisites this year to apply to a Nursing Program hopefully in 2015, but I want to become a CNA and gain work/volunteer experience while taking my prerequisites. Have you taken the CNA/NA-C program at Everett CC, Edmonds CC, Lake WA Tech, North Seattle CC, Shoreline CC or the Nursing Assistant Training Institute in Shoreline, and have any info to share? Would you recommend their program? What type of learning environment? Where/type of setting were clinicals? How would you rate the instructors? Were they passionate about nursing and attitude towards students? Did you have a lot of hands on learning? Class size? Did you walk away feeling well prepared/confident for the licensing exam and employment? Overall quality of the program? I have also heard of MedPrep and Caregiver Tech. Anyone gone there and have info to share too? Since Caregiver Tech is a very short program, was there more hands on learning and how well did you do on licensing exam and finding employment with a shorter program? Any insight would be wonderful! Thanks so much for your help!!

Best community colleges for Nursing prerequisites
Hi! I am going to start taking prerequisites this Fall to hopefully finish Fall 2014 in order to apply for RN programs in 2015. I am wondering if anyone has any info to offer on the colleges they went to for their prerequisites, especially for science classes and colleges/professors you recommend. I live in Snohomish, WA and will try to take all the classes I need to be qualified to apply for NSCC, EVCC, Shoreline, LWIT and possibly Bellevue. I am especially interested in hearing about your experiences with science classes at the colleges and if you could do it over what would you have done/path would have taken/what did you find helpful. With Lake WA Tech, you may take their BIOL 211 class without any prerequisites really, while other places at least require CHEM 121. Has anyone done that and did ok without having taken CHEM 121 first? I also saw that Everett CC has a learning community class with BIOL 211 and CHEM 121 together. Anyone here taken that and how did you like it? Thank you so much for your help!
