Hey question so the paper we have to sign for the acceptance has to b turned in by oct 30. if were taking it in person are we just dropping it in the mail slot in an envolope like we did our applications. Or do we have to give it to the admissons lady. I tried calling yesterday but no one answerd the phone.

Yes u should speak to the dean. last time when reading the old post for fall 2014 a student had gotten denied for her transcript or points counted wrong and she spoke to the dean and she was able to get in so yes you should say something because sometimes mistakes are made. ...

edge00 Thanks do much for the encouragement!!! I chose El centro as my 1st choice but it doesnt matter what campus they put me at i just want to get in. I to hope that we both will start the program in a few months (crossing fingers and toes). I hope everyone who desires to be a nurse gets in. It has been such a long road for us and tring to get accepted is not a joke! lol I keep thinking about that letter and i getting more nervous i wish the days will go by faster so i can breath again! I had made a copy of my application and sometimes i look it over to see if i signed, dated and crossed every T. Because i will be so hurt if i didnt get in because of a simple thing as completing application incorrectly. Keep the faith and think positive that our names are on that roster!!! :)

me too!!! i applied with 26 points i new i wasnt going to get in but i just gave it a shot. im hoping this time will be better after taking a couple more classes :)

We will receive a physical letter in mail on oct 15th i had applied for fall 2014 and didnt get in. I received it on the exact date they said we would which was like may 15th. I received two sheets of paper they say if you are accepted there should be at least five papers in the envelope. Its getting closer but sept seems to be dragging.....

The sentry is the new immunization/ physical form that needs to be filled out and fax or uploaded to there website then you have to pay $15 dollars for registration. People where able to submit there old immunaztions and physical papers to the website and there were accepted. The only difference is that you have to have hep A two doses one shot then the next shot is due six months later. New Immunization Requirements for Health programs | El Centro College here is the website that will give you the new info on whats needed. Good Luck

Yes i had that problem. I faxed and emailed my paper work to sentry on thursday of last week and had not received a conformation email until this morning. I turned in my application yesterday and i had asked the lady at the admissons front desk why it was taking so long for the email. She stated that Sentry was overwhelmed with applicants, she said that sentry was only looking for about 100 applicants to submitt forms. She said there was at least 500 forms submitted. I was like whattt!!! But i did forget to ask her if that was due to everybody applying for ALL of el centros health occupations. or was it 500 people applying just for the nursing program. They are trying to make it harder and harder to get in.....Smh I pray we all get in!!!

I want to say thanks to everyone on this blog. If i would not have checked yesterday i would not have known the change until it was to late. Im headed to the Dallas County health Dept for hep A shot in a moment it costs $50. I wonder what will happen with applicants that already submitted ther applications before the sentry md change? Hello everyone, I just got my denial letter from applying to El centro for fall 2014. I applied with 27 points but the cut off was 28. I will be taking may mester hprs 1202 for 2 more points and also i am going to retake my Ant 1407 over so that i can make an A instead of a C which will bring me up on my pre-req gpa. I also think i am going to tey to retake the hesi. Im hopefully going to apply with 30 points come July 15th. I think from readying the last 2 semester posts if you have 29 and up you have a really good chance of getting in. At first i was sad but i have to say that a least i am further than when i started. Everyone be encourged if we keep trying we will be nurses sooner or later!!
