School and a baby
I am having difficulty getting cosleeping to work for us, baby just wants to nurse constantly. She isn't sleeping, gosh I am so sleep deprived. I had no idea that sleep would be the biggest issue when having a baby. Any suggestions?

School and a baby
Thanks for all the responses, almost a year later and want to update for anyone who might be in the same situation. It was hard, my baby had colic and reflux for the first five months. It was exhausting, she never slept and still doesn't sleep, for example I only got 4 hours of sleep last night. I am still in school almost done hopefully by this month. The only advice I would give is if you have support then school shouldn't be difficult, if you are on your own then it will be challenging.

Communication issues...
Hi, I am trying to get feedback on what you have found works in promoting collaboration and communication between nurses and aides. Currently there's a lot of drama going on in the facility, just wanted to hear what works in your department. Thanks.

School and a baby
Hi, Thanks for your response, I think its my lack of experience with kids that makes me feel nervous and hearing stories of colicky babies and the difficulties of postpartum. It also doesn't help my anxiety when I am told that I will not sleep for the first few months. But you are right, not having to attend class in person should help with scheduling my time appropriately.

School and a baby
Hi Everyone, I am starting an online BSN completion program this February and my baby EDD will be the month after that. After going to the school orientation I am having doubts on whether I can successfully complete this program. I am currently not working, and will be the caretaker of my little one. This will be my first child, I would like to exclusively breastfeed and I am aware of the challenges ahead of taking care of a newborn. After contacting my instructor, she was willing to let me do my assignments ahead of time. I can't help, but feel anxious. Has anyone attended school while taking care of a newborn?

The best way to answer SATA questions are to eliminate the wrong answers, of course you have to first understand the topic, for example if you have a SATA question on nursing interventions for a person with Autonomic Dysreflexia, you will not answer the SATA question correctly if you do not understand the content. As for meds, I will first say its impossible for you to know every med that is out there, but what you can do is review what you learned in school such as dig, lithium, and so on. Break down the meds in classifications; such as what type of meds are tetracyclines (e.g cycline) or beta-blockers (olol), understand the contraindications whether it's diet or other drug interactions, and also study the common SE. I don't know if this is helpful or time-consuming, but what I did is reviewed my pharmacology notes in school and studied the meds in relation to diseases such as which meds are for depression, asthma, migraines and etc. Take a breather and relax for a bit then regroup and remember you can do this. Good luck:)

Sorry to hear about that, the exam is tough, and although the situation is emotionally draining please don't give up you have passed nursing school, you can do this! Before I give suggestions, I would like to ask, since you've had experience with the exam, do you feel as though you know your area of weakness?
