  1. throwaway15, Thank you for the response! Yea i might continue to go on the trip as planned. I'll have internet connection out there so I'll dedicate some time to school. How is the professional aspects of anesthesiology course the first week?
  2. Can anyone give insight into how the first week is like for the head start courses? They begin August 23 and I plan on taking them. I had originally booked a trip to Europe from August 19-28 and highly thinking about canceling my trip due to the classes beginning while I'm gone.
  3. They did not and thank you! Congrats to anyone else who was accepted and good luck and have hope to those who are waiting! I submitted my app and completely lost hope in April due to others getting interviews with much much higher stats compared to mine.
  4. I'll be at the Hollywood campus! What campuses are you guys at?
  5. I believe back in march. Thank you! I'll be crossing my fingers these next couple weeks :)
  6. Interviewed today. It was really laid back and more personal. Should be hearing something within two weeks they said.
  7. Congrats on the interview!
  8. When do the fall head start classes usually begin ? In August or September?
  9. When you get the confirmation email for the interview, there's a link about the program. I think it says that the deposit of 1k is due within three weeks.
  10. I figured you had to relocate. Just didn't want to assume. Ha How was relocating and etc.... if all goes well, id be moving from California.
  11. UtahICURN, Thanks for the info and advice! Did you take all three classes in one semester? I think they're offered in the summer and fall.. Did you have to relocate for the program?
  12. Awagrn, I submitted my entire packet in January and received an email in March saying my application was forwarded to the admissions committee.
  13. Awesome! I was thinking of putting the Tampa location and my first choice, followed by the Orlando location. Did you take advantage of the head start program?
  14. Received a call today. I'll be interviewing May 26.
  15. Haven't heard anything about the May dates
  16. Seems like you're good to go! 14 years experience is incredible. Just follow up on your application and make sure they have everything on file so it doesn't get delayed in reaching the admissions commiteee.
  17. To be honest my GRE score wasn't that good. My overall GPA is also mediocre due to college from 8 years ago. However, I made up for it in my nursing courses, science courses, CCRN certification, medical mission trips , 2.5 years ICU experience, and included rec letters from two CRNAs and was offered an interview. They look at the entire package. :)
  18. Haven't heard of the exact dates for may interviews. Anyone else ?
  19. Congrats on getting in! I had all my documents finalized beginning of march and barely found out about the interview two weeks ago. But I think it varies on applicant.
  20. Not sure how many students they will accept for this upcoming class. But I think they've only had about three interviews which began at the end of march with the application deadline just passing. From previous forum posts, they interview all the way up till September...
  21. How did that interview go? From reading previous posts, the head start program seems like a very good idea and lessens the workload come January.
  22. Not exactly sure when the May interview dates are. I was told that they would most likely be early in the month. I've read previous posts from prior years about the interview. Can anyone give info about the interviews this year? Anything change? I'm excited and nervous about interviews, but remaining hopeful :)
  23. Hey guys, I received a phone call for an interview as well! But I'll be interviewing in may because I'll be traveling from California for the interview. Best of luck to everyone next week. -Mike
  24. Hey! I am also a new grad in the ICU. I actually haven't started yet, just got hired this past Monday and looking forward to next couple months. From reading posts from other new grads and experienced ICU nurses; the learning curve upon entering ICU is high, even for nurses with floor experience. Don't be hard on yourself. Be positive, stay positive and do your best to study on your own times as well as ask lots of questions when you're on the floor! I'm also nervous going into the ICU as a new grad, but just keep a positive attitude and do your best :) if there is any experienced and new grad ICU nurses, feel free to chime in.
