  1. Thank you so much for your response, I really appreciate it. That makes complete sense. I'll likely over-produce, I just don't want to be spied on all day.
  2. Hello fellow nurses, I have worked in multiple capacities as an RN. I'm currently a Hospice Case Manager and absolutely love it, but feel I need a break from the emotional stress of Hospice. I would stay on PRN bc I love Hospice and my company, but need to take care of my emotional health. I have been recruited for a remote RNCM role through BCBS. I have not interviewed or accepted the position. When I reached out to a previous co-worker, she said to "be careful" because she's heard stories of these positions monitoring the nurse via camera during working hours. I don't want to waste time stating how self disciplined I am, that I have worked remotely before nursing, love caring for patients, have high integrity. But... I'm not comfortable with a company being able to monitor me 8 hours/day in my home. I completely get being prompt and responsive/available during scheduled hours... it just feels icky having someone watching me; bit to mention HIPAA concerns. This would never have crossed my mind. The only time I was monitored via video was during exams getting my BSN years ago. Hoping someone has some insight, thank you in advance. Sending love to all my fellow nurses.
  3. Hey Elya! I tried to invite you to my FB but it said your privacy settings wouldn't allow it. I'm not very FB savvy either so there may be a better way but I don't know it. lol... Anyways, try searching for the group name: "ACC (CEC Campus) Fall '13" I probably should have just posted that at the beginning of this whole thread! If we still can't figure it out, I'm sure we will have time on Thursday to all get connected on there. I think because of your privacy settings only you can request friends or groups. See you soon!
  4. Yes I saw that as well- mailing out 8/20... So I think we are safe. I finished all steps except I think I still need a flu vac by sept 15th. Going to worry about that later though. Did you see that we are being tested over dosage calc the first week? My friends didn't see that page so they were grateful to know to refresh on that stuff as well as skills. Just a heads up. :)
  5. Hey... I think the page you are reading must be old information. The email states between July 19th and August 19th. I registered yesterday and will probably go by in the next few days to do the test. When you register it lets you choose a location and it doesn't give you an appointment. You just go anytime thats convenient for you during that locations hours. Also, it's $50 which is crazy to me... most expensive drug test I've ever heard of... although I have never had to take one before, my friends and family said that's absurd. Anyways, hope that helps. I would go ahead and register if I were you and go to the test in the next few weeks.
  6. Hey there, not sure if it's allowed but here's my email linked to my FB: [email protected]... If you are on FB you can add me and I'll add you to the group I started for CEC students. :)
  7. No, I don't work and won't work in the program either. But I'm sure if you work part-time you will be fine. I'm getting very excited and nervous as well. I may start a FB page for the CEC folks... Hopefully I can post that info on here if they allow it. I will follow up soon with that. :)
  8. Hey there! I have used this website for great insight throughout the process of deciding where to go to nursing school, what I'm going, motivation, etc. So I decided to check and see if anyone had started a forum for incoming students to the Traditional Track ACC nursing program. Since I can't find one, I started one. I thought it would be a good idea for us to start networking and exchanging valuable info asap. We can start a blog or FB page to communicate easier. I will be attending the CEC campus and I know 2 other women going there as well. Congratulations & I can't wait to meet everyone!
