  1. Congrats!!! I personally do not plan to work. I have a friend who is in the program one semester ahead of us. She doesn't work and says she is so busy all of the time. The paperwork from baker says they recommend not working if possible. But really it's up to you and how much you can handle. I have 2 kids and a husband who is currently deployed 6 months a year so I already have a lot on my plate. But if you really need the $ it's worth a shot and if it proves to be too much then quit. Or take a break from work for a couple weeks until you settle into the nursing school routine then ease back into work.
  2. My fb search is coming up with nothing for that name . Could you post a link?
  3. I know! Yes I do think we should start one. Hopefully between the two we can get a good number of people together. I'm sure people will find it. I can't be the only one who searched for one on fb after getting the acceptance letter.
  4. YAY!!!! Congrats to us!!!!! So exciting!
  5. I GOT IN!!!!!! I hope to hear from other who have as well!!!!
  6. MY LETTER CAME!!!! My husband is deployed so in waiting for him to wake up to Skype so we can open it together!! This is killing me!!!
  7. Thank you!!! I'm going to try really hard to let go if grade perfection. It's going to be a hard habit to break!! Thank you again and best of luck as a nurse!!!!!
  8. After the Kaplan they give you a breakdown to figure out how many points you have out of the 100. I have 90.01 so fingers crosses!!! Congrats to you by the way!!!! Any advice on surviving the program? I'm super excited! We should be getting the determination email in 4 days!!!
  9. Yea the points for entrance was changed to 100 (I think it was 50 or something lower a few years ago) I scored 79 on Kaplan (average is 60-64 according to our proctor) but that only makes up like 30 of the 100 points. The rest come from grades and lack of transfer credits. I'm not sure why or when they changed it.
  10. I start the program in the fall and I have so many questions. I should probably make an appointment with the advisor but asking here won't hurt. I have been hearing a lot about people graduating and not being qualified to work in the department they want to because they lack qualifications. So what happens after you graduate nursing school and have an associates in nursing? What are the areas you can and can't work? Besides NCLEX what other qualifications or additional training/testing will I need. I guess I was just under the impression that you do clinicals in different areas of nursing during school and chose where you wanted to work after.
  11. I am in the same boat as you. I have not gotten acceptance yet (still a few more weeks before our letters come) but I am so scared. I have worked 2 years for this so the thought of failure is terrifying!!! My mind is constantly racing with the "what ifs". So I don't have any advice but I can tell you your not alone!
  12. I'm soon to be 24 with 2 kids and I start the program in fall if all goes well. I understand where your coming from because when I started my pre reqs I was pregnant. I felt so out of place because everyone was fresh out of high school. But as my classes went on it seemed most of the younger classmates disappeared and now almost everyone around me is my age and older. But either way don't worry, as long as this is what you want to do its all that matters.
  13. Thank you!! I'm still trying to figure out how everything works on this site!!!!
  14. Oh that's funny I did too, well more like half. It sucks because most people in Owosso seem to know each other already and I only know a few of them. Is this your first time applying?
  15. Yea I saw that too!!!! I wish there was a list of cut off points throughout the years! Did you take all of your classes in Owosso?
