Is there a study guide or resource that helps you pick out obvious wrong answers for the FNP AANP exam? I've searched and can't find anything. I remember for undergraduate I took Kaplan and they had an "answer three" to help guide you to a correct answer and also hints on how to pick out wrong answers. For example if the answer had in it "never or always".

Trying to stay positive. I was extremely pissed off for a couple weeks there as well as frustrated. I'm trying to refocus and keep at it.

Thanks for the reply. I did take the ANCC once. For me I did not like it, but you may do very well on it. Good luck!! I'm actually going to meet with a lady (I'm not sure what her title would be called), but she helps you figure out the best way for you to learn/study for tests. She says that she has seen this a lot. People who have done well in school but have trouble with these types of tests. She recently helped a med resident pass their boards, and a lawyer with their bar exam. Trying to stay positive. Good luck to you as well.

Thanks for the reply. I feel like I know the information and confident in my knowledge. That's what kills me about this test is that I should be able to pass it. I feel over thinking the questions, over analyzing them, and thinking that they are trying to trick me is my problem. I need to go with my gut. I'll see if I can find that book. I do have Barkley review and the cds, and also the Leik book.

Yes. I took several tests for each course in my graduate I think several of you are correct. Doing the practice tests I am relaxed, I read a question and choose an answer. And like I said had been getting higher 580s and above. Thinking back to this recent exam. I took a lot longer than I normally do making sure that I answer and probably overthinking the question and even questioning myself. Thanks for helping me realize this.

I got all A's (1 B) in my master's program. I've never been good at tests. I passed my NCLEX with 76 questions. I did the Live Fitzgerald course and didn't really like it. I have Barkley and the CD's and listen to them as well. I really appreciate everyone's help. I feel confident in my knowledge and doing the practice tests (which those gave me false hope). After giving myself a day to cool off and think about the test. I found myself thinking I second guessed myself on some questions. I came home and wrote down as many questions/answers I could remember about 75 of them. and realized then that I knew the answer but had selected another/wrong answer.

Seriously!!! I'm going to vent quick. I don't know what it is that I'm not getting on these exams. I can't even get more than 60% of the questions right. I've been studying my butt off. I've done practice exams that all score high 580's and above. This test is ruining my life! I'm now home writing down all the questions that I can remember and know which ones that I've missed. But honestly I have no idea what more I can do. I felt confident this time. Now every time I take this damn test all I feel is that I'm waiting for that "NOT PASSED" to slap me in my face. I've gotten advice from others who have passed. I've done that. I've reviewed. I "felt" confident. I just don't know what more I can do?!

I feel confident in knowing the information but I don't think I'm use to questions. I did the Fitzgerald live review, and have the book and cds for Barkley that I've done. I bought 50 practice exams off examedge to hopefully get use to the questions better and be more comfortable. Trying to stay positive.

Thanks for the info.. How many questions did you get with the apea q bank ? I don't know if I should try the Aanp again or the Ancc?

My school doesn't offer any one on one. I'd have to look again for my low scores. I was so upset I threw it away. I was looking at buying exams from familynpprep.com that's exactly how I feel... Lost. I want to give up.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I graduated over a year ago.! I took the Fitzgerald review course and failed my aanp twice with a score of 476 on the last one. I took the Barkley course and liked it and took the Ancc and failed. Today I retook the Aanp and failed. I don't know what I need to do? Practice exams? Honestly I give up because everytime I walk into that test center I feel like I'm going to fail. Any advice please.

Yes on my days off. I work 12 hour shifts at the hospital and have a toddler at home. Was studying about 5-6 hours a day - 4 days a week. I took the Fitzgerald class and have the Leik book and have tons of flashcards. I just don't know what I keep doing wrong.. is there a way to link that ANCC? I couldn't find it. Others have told me to purchase the cd's which is like $300. Cant afford that at the moment.

Did you feel that the CD's helped?? And Anyone know where I can do the 15 CE's required. It says to do it in my "areas of weakness" I'm not sure exactly how to find CE's like that. Or can I just do 15 hours worth of random ones and get it done with?

I studied the Fitzgerald book back to front. I felt like on the exam there were topics that I had never seen before. I plan on reading the Leik book. Are there CD's you recommend to buy?? And how do I get the final say on pass/fail? Will it show up on the website or will it be a letter sent to my house? Thanks.

well i failed. I felt like the sample test on aanp was nothing like the actual exam.. what do I do?? I feel sick and discouraged.

I took my AANP today and failed. I feel the same way...sick to my stomach. I took the Fitzgerald review course and took the AANP practice exam i scored a 70%. I felt like the actual exam was nothing like the practice exam. Where do I go from here?? I was told I have to do 15 CEs. I've heard about Liek (sp). Any advice? Thanks.
