What was your first NP job?
I am having the hardest time finding a job in my area. Not to mention, everyone I seem to deal with is not nice nor wants to give me the time or day because I am a new grad :/. I am getting so discouraged. Has anyone else noticed the jobs are scarce?! There is like a hiring freeze where I live (ky:tn). What was your first job? I have applied to everything around here and haven't heard a word so now I am going to go in person and hand deliver my resume to put a face with the job. I know God will provide but I am just down right now. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate as far as a new grad getting a job and a good range of a salary to start with as a new grad. Ha! I did have one interview with a pain management doc and he asked me how much I wanted and I said $110k he laughed and said good luck. I didn't really want that job anyways but I had no idea what to ask. Ugh. Any help would be much appreciated!!! Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com

Now what do you do once you have passed? LOL
Since my program was online- I have had to figure a lot of things out on my own. Now that I have passed boards- now what? Will they just send me my license or do I have to apply for that and pay? Is there anything else I need after my license? Thanks ? Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com

Failed AANP
Well, I PASSED!!!! The 2nd time around :). I took the AANP again an I swear it was almost identical to my first exam so I got a little nervous but I knew more this time since I truly studied. God is good! This time I went through Amelie's review book and wrote notecards for each section, redid her review, took plenty of practice exams on familynpprep and was scoring between 480-500s and then completed Amelie's full review book of questions that's orange and white for family NP. I REalLy worked for this one- but praise God! It paid off :). If I can do it-- you can do it! Thank you guys for all of your help through this rocky process. It feels like a big rock has been lifted from me and I am free! Lol :) Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com

Failed AANP
Hey Yasmin! No they do not repeat the exact test (found out from my friends). Although some see it as a walk in the park or an "entry level test" ha! It is anything but that. ALOT of people don't pass their first time regardless of how much they boast. Saying that, there are some repeated questions, but it will not be the exact test. Best advice- look at your weak areas and focus on them. Know them from front to back. Best of luck sugar and you can do this!!!! God bless! Sent from my iPhone using allnurses.com

New grad RN job fair...need advice
Hey there! I work in Nashville at St. Thomas Hospital... Ha! . Anyways- a lot of hospitals are needing help for nurses right now in Nashville so that is to your advantage. If you have any CNA experience or prior hospital experience mention that. Stress that YOU are a Teamplayer! You'll help others when they are behind. Don't mention anything that suggests you will leave after 1 year and have gotten experience- there's a high new grad turnover employers worry about. Mention that you will work extra (even if u won't), you are always on time, don't call out ever, etc. if they ask for references give them only good work related references. Smile a lot and have good posture- shake hands and make eye contact, chat it up and make friends- be friendly! Lol :). That's all I got! Glad you and ur hubby survived bonaroo.

Failed AANP
Lol, yes, thank The Lord I can retake it! I have to wait 2 months to retest. I am just discouraged because I failed and I wonder how many other people out there failed their first time. Also, is anyone has any suggestions on studying this next time?

Failed AANP
Well, I just took the AANP and failed it. I am so dissapointed in myself. I was scoring 68-72% on the practice exams and predictor exams. I took the Amelie review course and studied that and Fitz review. I just knew I was going to pass and then it came across the screen NOT PASSED. I feel the exam was pretty tough in my opinion. I also freaked out during te exam and had a hard time concentrating on the questions. I am just discouraged and dissapointed. Now what do I do?
