UCF Traditional and Accelerated BSN-2014
FutureUCf - out of all the prerequisites for the BSN program (8 or 9 I believe) I had A's in all of them except for a B+ in a&p 1 which I took as a dual enrolled high school senior. I also had over 100 hours of volunteer time in a medical setting at my local hospital. I can't remember if I put that on this application or others as they all have run together by this point. Either way I hope it helps.

UCF Traditional and Accelerated BSN-2014
Hey FutureUCf - I had a 3.9 overall gpa with a 3.89 pre-requisite gpa. My TEAS was my weakness which was 78% composite. One thing that I think may have helped me was that I had many other nursing-oriented classes on my transcripts such as Understanding Medical Language, Community Health Problems, Concepts of Wellness, Personal Health etc. I'm not certain if they even look at those, let alone place any emphasis on them since they are not required, but it certainly didn't hurt. Also, I looked on these forums from past years to try and find some waitlist statistics, and I found some interesting stuff. The waitlist can contain anywhere from 45-75 people depending on the year. In 2011 it was 45, and in 2012 it was 75 (according to the forums on this site) And that every year they take a considerable amount from the waitlist. I would imagine that they took several off the waitlist in 2011, and that is why they added more people to the 2012 waitlist. Obviously these stats should be taken for a grain of salt because I do not have any credible sources, but it should help clarify things at least a little bit. I'm not sure about every school, but out of all the schools that I applied to, UCF (my first choice) was the first one to send out their decisions. Most of the other schools like UWF, USF, and UF, won't be until the middle of May to late June before they send out their decisions. So, I would imagine that the majority of the people who are on the waitlist will not be notified until after those other major schools have announced their decisions and everyone gets to decide where they want to go. I thought that I was going to be in for a long wait over the summer, and I am still baffled that they replied so soon. Don't lose hope, I'm sure you will get in!!!!

UCF Traditional and Accelerated BSN-2014
Hey green_girl - I got the email at noon on 4/23 and had exactly 1 week to RSVP to them. Seeing as I came off of the waitlist I doubt that it would take away much time from the admissions committee for SSC/UCF. I can't imagine that they deal with more than a handful of waitlist applicants at any given time. I know the wait is miserable, but it will all be worth it in the end!

UCF Traditional and Accelerated BSN-2014
Hey Everybody! I just got my email today that I have been taken off the waitlist and given conditional acceptance for the General BSN program this Fall! I look forward to meeting all of you as we take this next big step in our journey to becoming nurses! Which orientation should I be signing up for? Also, when is this Starbucks meet up that everyone is referring to?!

UWF Fall 2014 Hopefuls!
Hey everybody! I am also an applicant to the general BSN program at UWF. I have been following these forums for quite some time and I figured that it was time to start getting involved on here. The wait seems so far away, but I know that it will be worth it. Hope everyone has a great day!!!

UCF Traditional and Accelerated BSN-2014
Hey everybody! I'm not new to these forums, but this is my first post. I applied to the traditional BSN program for UCF and I was waitlisted. I am incredibly optimistic that everything will work out though. I just wanted to congratulate everyone who got accepted, and figured that it was time to start communicating with some like-minded people. By chance, does anyone know what the stats are for UCF's waitlist? I can't get anybody to return my calls, and I just would like to know about how many people are on the list and about how many can expect to join the cohort in the Fall. Anyway have a great day, and Happy Easter!!!
