  1. I am a traveling cardiac nurse and have had the most chaotic first week of supposed "orientation". THis whole first week at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle they have been shuffling myself and the other travelers all over the place and accomplishing nothing. They sent all three of us separate first day instructions to orientation days where the instructors never showed up. This is the most disorganized place I have ever been and they treat their travelers like second class citizens. I had no idea and had heard only good things about this place starting out. If anyone is thinking about coming here think twice.
  2. I am currently on assignment in Tucson, AZ and one of the hospitals, Northwest Med Center, is paying $38 per hour for medsurg tele. And a dollar less for straight medsurg. It is the highest in the state. Several others in town have 2-4000$ completion bonuses. They do this because arizona gets all of the snow birds in the winter. Elderly folk from Iowa and such and the ER's get overrun.
  3. I am a relatively new nurse moving to portland and wondered if anyone has worked at Good Sam's down town in the progressive cardiac care unit. Cardiac is way out of my comfort zone and wondered how intense it would be. I already interviewed with the manager but was wanting some real nursing input. PLEASE help, thanks all.
