  1. Hello all, The verdict is in for me: "On behalf of the Department of Nursing and Health Sciences, we regret to inform you that you are not eligible for the Fall 2013 Pre-Licensure Nursing Program for the following reason: One or more of your official transcripts did not arrive to CSUEB by the published deadline, February 14, 2013, so your prerequisites could not be verified. If you wish to reapply to our Fall 2014 program, online applications will be available October 1, 2013. Please visit the Pre-Licensure Program Admission link on our website: http://www20.csueastbay.edu/csci/departments/nursing/" Honestly, I am upset and confused about this because I made sure I had everything sent in well before the deadline. I mailed everything by certified mail so I know for a fact that they received it. : ( I guess it just was not meant to be. Onwards and upwards and to Sacramento I shall go. Congratulations to those who got in and I wish you all the best of luck this fall and beyond!
  2. Thank you for the update! Right down to the wire, I guess. We shall see.
  3. Poor thing! I think that's it, the uncertainty and waiting, that really makes me go crazy. Plus the fact that the date keeps getting pushed back. The longer this thing gets drawn out, the worse it gets. It's mentally exhausting, to be honest. It's like we've come so far, and to be let down now would just suck so bad. But I am trying not to dwell on the what-ifs, and just trying to take it as it comes. We got this!
  4. Your stats are also fantastic! Before I found this website, I was feeling pretty good about my chances, but now, seeing that many of you have similar or better stats, I'm not so sure anymore. It's crazy how competitive it has gotten. I too wish everyone the best of luck and hopefully we will all be classmates come Fall!
  5. That's really too bad about the healthcare experience, it's like, what are the chances of that happening?! But I guess it's best not to dwell on it. As if you needed anymore stress anyway! Haha Yeah, I definitely got lucky with o chem, for sure. Some major celebrating was done after that class was over with! Sometimes the plus/minus grading frustrates me to no end, but sometimes it does work out in our favor, I guess. That B+ in English still haunts me sometimes, though! Lol Hopefully today is THE day!
  6. The rejection email I got was pretty generic, stating something like: "selected applicants had higher gpas, teas scores, and more healthcare experience", so I'm guesting that the lack of healthcare experience really did me in. I do have my CNA certification, however I do not have paid experience being one, so that didn't help either.
  7. Indeed we are! And you are totally right about the reverse commute. That's a definite plus! I've been busy reading this and other threads and it seems like you and I have similar stats (mine= 94% on Teas/3.9 pre-req/4.0 science/ no supplementals). The last part makes me nervous, like it's my Achilles' heel/kiss of death. At least this torture/waiting game will be over soon, that's what I keep telling myself!
  8. Thank you! I applied to Sac because the two year program is pretty appealing. However, I would need to max out my student loans to attend and am not sure if I am comfortable with that, given the job market for new nurses. Getting in to East Bay would work out much better for me, financially speaking. I live on the Peninsula (Redwood City), so I would have to commute a ways but I am used to commuting so I don't think it would be too horrible. Of course, this could be a moot point if I get rejected, but I am hoping for the best. I already got denied admission to the SFSU program, though that was sort of expected. I hear you about the email thing. I have been checking it constantly for like the past month and every time I see a new email in my inbox I get my hopes up, but alas, nothing. Boo. lol. Countdown time for us!
  9. It is! I just looked through some past threads from previous years' fall admission and noticed that the nursing dept. usually had an answer by the middle-end of April. I know they probably got a ton of applications but they get a lot every year. Unless this year there was just so many more? It is a little frustrating, for sure. And thank you! Good luck to you and everyone else who applied!
  10. Just found this thread but I too have been going crazy waiting for an answer! I got in to another program (Sacramento State) but my first choice is CSUEB since I live in the Bay Area. Hopefully we all make it in!
