  1. Okay that's where I was getting confused. So MSN, RN-BC, RNC-NIC, while redundant, would be considered correct?
  2. Hi all, I just got certified in Nursing Informatics through ANCC today, yay! I am also certified as an RNC-NIC and now I'm not sure how to display my credentials. Would it be (Name), MSN, RN-BC, RNC-NIC? I am also studying for a sub-specialty certification (C-ELBW), would that just go at the very end when/if I earn that? Thank you! :)
  3. Has anyone purchased the NANN Neonatal Review Course for the RNC-NIC exam? I've been reviewing by myself and doing practice questions, but I don't feel as prepared for the exam as I would like. I'd like to do an in-person review, but there aren't any available in my area and flying out somewhere isn't an option right now. The video modules seem like a good alternative, but I want to make sure it's worth it. I can't find any reviews for it on the site or anywhere else online. TIA!
  4. Hi all, I'm scheduled to take my RNC exam in a couple months, and I am at a bit of a loss as to where to start reviewing. I have Watson's "Certification and Core Review for Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing", and a friend gave me her Mometric "Neonatal CCRN Exam Study Guide". I was looking online and it looks like NANN and Pearls Review have review courses. Would you guys recommend taking one, and if so, which one? Any other tips would be greatly appreciated! (I currently have 2 1/2 years of Level III experience.)
  5. Yes, you will need to make an account. It will likely take a few weeks because even though they have received all your documents, it will still take them a bit to begin processing. At least that's how it was in my case.
  6. For those who have received their licenses - how soon did you have your physical license in hand after your license number was posted on Breeze?
  7. You can check on BreEZe, but it will be a few weeks before you show up on the site. Just check back periodically.
  8. My license FINALLY came through! Contact your Congressman if you're having issues! A name search did not have to be done for me. 8/29: Called the board and they told me my second set of fingerprints had been rejected (I sent THREE cards the second time) and a name search would have to be done. 9/8: Called for an update on my name search. BRN said it was started on 9/2, even though I was told it would be started 8/29. During this week, I got in contact with my Congressman's office to help. I called the man I had been in contact with today and he said that my last set of fingerprints were processed on 9/7. He wasn't sure if they had been accepted or rejected, but his contact at the DOJ was supposed to let him know soon, and he would get back to me on Monday. I went ahead and looked on the BreEZe site after getting off the phone with him, and my license number was posted! I can finally start working! (Sorry if none of this makes sense, I'm too excited.)
  9. Congratulations! Hopefully my name search will be done soon. :|
  10. No. Livescan can only be done in California. For anyone out of state, you have to submit the fingerprint cards.
  11. Thankfully my supervisor has been reassuring me to not worry, and that I can start as soon as I receive my license. I moved to San Diego on the 6th and was supposed to start working on the 11th.
  12. Not sure yet. I called yesterday and they haven't come back. I need to start working soon and I'm really fed up.
  13. For those of you who wrote to your Congressman, what did you say? Did you just give your entire timeline?
  14. I called. One week I was told they were just waiting for my fingerprints to come back and to call back in 1-2 weeks. I called the next week and was told they were rejected and they would be sending a letter via snail mail about what to do next.
  15. Were you told how long a name search would take? Just trying to prepare myself in the event my second set of fingerprints are rejected.
  16. Not necessarily. My breEZe account showed as open/pending for weeks, and I just found out this past week that my fingerprints were rejected (15 weeks after my application was received).
  17. I'll be in San Diego; I'm moving on 8/3. Thankfully I have money saved up that I can get by for a few more months, and I still have one more check from my last job. If it gets to be past 3 or so months, then I'll have to start looking into something to do for work.
  18. From what I understand after speaking with them, they are still on the March applications, so the online processing page is correct. When looking at my file, they said they could not verify that my transcripts had been received until they began processing April applications, but that everything else, aside from my rejected fingerprints, "looked good so far."
  19. I found out it was rejected when I called to follow up. It doesn't sound like they would have informed me via faster means of communication such as email or phone call, they sent a letter which should be arriving at the end of this week. They received all of my documents 4/1 and I still have nothing to show for it, so I wish you luck.
  20. Has anyone had any experience with their fingerprints being rejected while endorsing to California? I called the Board yesterday to check the status of my application (over 15 weeks after it had been received), only to find out my fingerprints had been rejected that day. Apparently they were cleared by the DOJ, but not the FBI, and the man I spoke with at the Board could not give me a reason why. So anyway, they want me to mail reprints. I want to get them done today as my local police department only does them Tuesdays and Thursdays, but when I spoke to the Board on the phone, he said that there was a letter coming to me via snail mail and I would need that to re-do my prints. Can I go ahead and get my reprints done, or do I have to present this letter from the board to my local PD? Thanks!
  21. I've been calling every week for the past 4 or 5 weeks. Today, I had to call over 10 times before I was finally connected with someone. I am moving August 3rd and now there's no way I'm going to have my temporary or permanent license before then.
  22. I called again, for the 5th week in a row (and over 10 calls in a row to even be able to speak to someone) - and my fingerprints have been rejected. They have had my applications for over 15 weeks now (person I spoke to even confirmed my applications were received 4/1). I cannot even begin to express the rage and anger I am feeling right now.
  23. I've filed a complaint on both, but haven't heard anything back yet.
  24. Umm so the processing times page says that the BRN is currently processing temporary licenses from May 1-15. My application was received 4/1. What gives?!
  25. Were you notified that your fingerprints were not accepted? I don't have time to keep messing with this process.
