  1. I've seen you in orientation!! If you have time I would love to speak with you I had my first classes of NUR215 and NUR235 and I'm completely overwhelmed with the reading!! Professor sverski assigned reading for 235 but the powerpoints say exactly what's on the reading should I keep reading or just follow the powerpoints before class and make my notes while skimming the chapter?? I'm stressing the hell out already!! Helpppp!! My name is Crystal btw lol . @Quanteria
  2. I'm a pre nursing student at Bloomfield college I got into some legal issues and I'm supposed to apply to the program in March. I know your supposed to have a background check done for the hospitals but I was told the school doesn't start clinicals until towards the end of the program. By then I would be cleared of this being on my record as a pending charge since I applied for the PTI program to have the charges dismissed by the completion of the program. Anyone with any advice?? The charge was theft by extortion and harassment. Please help!!
  3. Okay I'm going to ask them. I just don't want this stupid mistake to ruin my chances of ever being a nurse I really want this. Thanks for your advice I appreciate it!
  4. This past week was by far the worst week of my life. I was arrested and charged for harassment and extortion to someone that I thought was a friend of mine but completely turned on me out of no where and it got heated. I have to go through court issues now and I have an attorney saying to apply for PTI since it's my first offense and I can get the charges dismissed after 1-3 years of being on probation, I have to pay him back etc, then I have to wait 6 months until I can get my record expunged. I have one year until I was supposed to apply for the nursing program at Bloomfield college, I made a huge mistake dealing with this person not knowing this person would try to ruin my life. What are my chances of getting into the program with this being pending? And having an arrest on my record. I've read a couple articles and some people say even with an expungement you can still be withheld your license or may not even be admitted to the NCLEX when the time comes, Nursing is my dream and I don't want something like this to disqualify me from ever becoming a nurse and getting a job. I'm not a drug addict or a murderer I just made a mistake and it went too far. Opinions and advice please.

I think I'm going to look into an LPN program the one in morris county is all filled now. And the reason I fell behind because I wasn't making the sacrifices that I should've been. And as far as family issues go I think I might be moving out to avoid anymore distractions in the future. Thanks for your advice I appreciate it.

I'm stuck and lost at what to do in my path into nursing. I've been attending County a College of Morris since 2010 trying to get into their nursing program but I wasn't doing well in my sciences (repeating classes and C's). I wasn't 100% focused due to working full time and family issues, my gpa dropped to a 1.9 and once it dropped I realized that in order to get into nursing I need minimally a 2.5. I worked really hard for a year to bring my gpa to a 2.49; that's with retaking classes and taking random classes to bring up my grades. I applied to the program either way with falling short and didn't get in. I also applied to Eastwick college in Ramsey NJ for the one year LPN program and got in with a 74% on my teas exam. I didn't end up going there due to it being so expensive. So I applied to BSN nursing programs in the area and would only get into the school undergrad not into their programs right away. Overall the schools I applied to I decided to accept my offer at Bloomfield college because I have a scholarship there and was told I could do one year there bring up my GPA and apply for their nursing program next fall, faulty me I didn't really pay attention to the price of tuition and I am now realizing that it's pretty expensive per year as well. I would take out a loan but I keep getting denied for a loan because I don't have a cosigner. So since I'm in this problem I was thinking of applying to Morris county school of technology for their LPN program and do that for a year which is cheaper and try to get back into County college of Morris with their accelerated RN program. I'm just really trying to find a solution to get back on my feet with my grades etc. I really want to be a nurse badly and I'm 22 I want to be on my way to achieving my goals. Any advice??? All is welcome but please don't be mean :)
  7. Thanks for your honest replies, I know I haven't been pushing myself as hard as I can go back then and now with all the stress, I just know that I'm ready to work and bring my gpa up to at least a 2.5 or higher. I decided when school does start I'm going to have to quit and spend more time on my studies I really want to be a nurse and start my future I just hope I didn't blow all my chances away. I've spoken to counselors at my school and they've given me characteristic tests and none of them helped it just told me to do nursing. I know I'm made to be a nurse I just love helping people it's just the book work and working two jobs and having others courses to take is overwhelming, but I'm ready now do you think I have a chance to get into a program even with repeating A&p 2 3 times?
  8. I'm currently a pre-nursing student at a community college near by, my gpa is a 2.091 with 45 credited classes due to me having a d in sociology my freshman year, this past fall and spring term I received a d in A&p 2 both times I took it with the same professor. Ive gotten c's in micro and a&p1, I guess you can say I'm a complete screw up I've just been going through a lot of stress lately with working two jobs going to school full time and being one of the primary providers in my household. Is it smart to retake as many classes as I can? I've taken all my prerequisites it's just A&p 2 that I need to repeat. I'm taking nutrition over I got a c in that, I'm taking health and wellness, sociology and a&p2 this fall coming up, idk what I should do what path I should take or anything I just wished that I took school a lot more seriously 2 years ago because I'm absolutely paying for my mistakes.. Is there any advice that anyone can give me? No sugar coating I need to out weigh the options I have
