Going for a BSN. I've noticed the points system with some schools, which doesn't really work for me. Worst case scenario, I might have to get another BS degree (probably in Biology or something similar), and be sure to do really well to boost my GPA.

Hi everyone, So, a little about me - Graduated from a CA state school with a degree in Marketing about ten years ago. Went back to school to do my nursing pre-req's and came out of it with a 3.8 GPA in the sciences. The problem I've been having is that my grades from my first degree weren't that great and really pulled down my GPA, which doesn't make me very competitive when applying for CA state schools. My question is, where can I apply that would weigh my more recent grades more than the old ones? I'm willing to go anywhere in the country. Thanks for your help!

Hi PDX, have you heard anything yet? I also applied for 2014 and haven't received a response yet...

I was planning on it, but my pre-requisites were not accepted as transferrable. So in the meantime, I've been looking at applying to other programs. Anyone else in the same boat?

Hi everybody, I was told that my Anatomy and Physio courses are not being accepted as transferable for the BSN program, and that I'll have to take BIOL 223 and 224 again at UNLV. There are no other pre-req's that I need before applying to the nursing program and since they can't even be taken concurrently this puts me a year behind schedule. And then I'll have to take NURS 299 after that. Seems like a scam since my A&P were very thorough; we even dissected cadavers in the Anatomy lab. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks in advance

Just wanted to say good luck to everyone. I will be attending UNLV in the fall and hopefully applying to the SON for the Summer '14 session.
