  1. Hi everyone! I'm starting nursing school in January 2016. Our dress code states that shoes can be "white duty or all white athletic shoes." We cannot wear any open toe, open back, or multicolored sports shoes. I am looking into getting a pair now so that when I start I can have a comfortable, broken-in pair to use throughout the program. I've been doing my research and a lot of veteran nurses refer to the brand "Danskos" as one of the most comfortable for long shifts. I'm wondering if I should start with this brand. I have quite a high arch so I need lots of support. Would this brand help in that area? Anyone have recommendations for me? Thank you all :)
  2. I'm sorry about your difficult situation. Don't give up yet! Sometimes certain programs will let you put your start date on "pause"... my college does for certain situations. Maybe talk with them and see your options before completely backing out. You wouldn't want all your hard work of getting into the program to go to waste! I would first talk with them to see, and then if you are allowed to do so immediately start trying to look for options as far as housing and rent. Is there a family member that would be willing to help you out? If not, then I would start looking into programs around your hometown. Call to see if your classes you have as pre-reqs can be used toward their programs.
  3. Yay! I start in January also! And awesome job completing all your BSN requirements already! That's amazing! I was looking into BSN thru either State or U of D... still not sure. A few people who have went thru the program told me to go thru U of D, so I'm probably going to head that route :) I'm excited to know someone on here with the same start date!
  4. Yes! I start in January 2016. They did not send me an exact date for that month yet tho. :)
