  1. Hello again! I spoke with the Assistant Dean and she said I can start the OSOL classes in the Fall 2016! There is virtually NO waiting list if you want OSOL. Are you done with pre-reqs, background check and the TEAS?
  2. Thank you! I'll do that [emoji4]
  3. Im meeting with someone on Monday! I'll let you know what I find out :)
  4. also, the nursing program consists of 4 sections. Nursing 1 is a semester, 2 is one semester, etc. So if you skip Nursing 1 by testing out, it will only be 3 semesters (about a year and a half) The full program, OSOL and traditional program, is 2 years
  5. I agree. There's not much online. Im still waiting to hear back from the adviser from 2 weeks ago! From what I have heard, you can enroll in the Mobility program if you're an LPN for at least 6 months. You still have to have the required pre-requisites and TEAS test results. The main difference is you can skip Nursing 1 if you "test out". So basically after all of your pre-requisites for the traditional program, you then can take the Nursing 1 final exam. If you pass it, you can go right into Nursing 2 and be a semester ahead. (This is what Im waiting on from the adviser.) The OSOL is onsite online. You take all courses online and you attend clinicals 1 day a week, 7am-7pm. I have heard from one of the instructors that they only allow people with medical experience into that program. So since youre an LPN, you'd be eligible to go into that program. The only difference is if you test out of Nursing 1, you would go into Nursing 2. It's all so confusing. I'm hoping to hear back from the adviser this week. I'll keep you updated on anything else I hear
  6. Hi everyone! I am an LPN currently and can go through the mobility program at OCC. I have the chance to "test out" of Nursing 175 and go onto the next semester. This worries me but excites me. Does anyone have an idea of what Nursing 175 consisted of? Thank you!!
  7. Hi everyone! I have just finished my pre-requisites for the OCC Nursing program. (Finally!) I am an LPN and have been for about 3 years now. I am definitely more interested in the on site on line program that OCC offers. I was just wondering if anyone knows more information about it. Since it's the "holiday week", everyone is off from OCC and I'm so impatient to know! Anyone have an idea of how long that particular program (OSOL) takes to get in now? Also, Any tips from anyone in the program/has completed it will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!!
  8. Hey, trust me, I was so broke all year and had to find ways to afford everything!
  9. Hey, I'm not in the program this year, I was last year. But you can just call the LPN office (the number is on the website) or email them! They'll send you another copy :) if I still had mine, I'd send it to you!
  10. When you go to ocvts.org and go to contact, you will see LPN Nursing and their phone number. That's Their direct number with the extension for the LPN office. There may not be much there now because we just got out last week, but by November (when you need them) there will be a bunch, I'm sure
  11. If youre not grossed out to wear used scrubs (you can obviously wash them!) The LPN office has or will have white clinical scrubs in different sizes from past students. A lot of us donated ours to the school so new students can use them. I was broke, so I ran to the office to find my size. lol Nothing a little detergent cant clean
  12. Good I'm glad you're excited! We're any of the teachers there or was it just administration and the principal?
  13. Good luck tomorrow ladies! I'm pretty sure you'll hear the "the next ten months will be hell" speech. They're not lying, but it will be great at the same time! Don't panic if you hear something scary or that you don't like. You all can do this. Be excited! Your new future is beginning :)
  14. Thanks for all of your input and your strategies!! Im taking mine in August. What is the study guide you're talking about on here? A lot of people talk about it but I can't find it! I'm buying the kaplan qbank and review. It's the $129 one I believe. I can't afford the $400 one! Is that the one you used? I don't want to use too many study guides I feel like ill get super overwhelmed. So I was going to get Saunders comprehensive book for content to review and just do all the qbanks. And hopefully if I find that study guide! Congratulations!!!!! And thank you again for your help!
  15. Thank you! I will definitely keep you updated about NCLEX. Good luck!!
  16. Hey girls! Tomorrow is graduation day! I can't wait to see all of you say this next July :) trust me when I say, if I can do this, you can. I was not a star student. I struggled, studied hours a day, but did it. It's very possible if you put everything you have into it. Looking back, I can't believe it went by this fast. Seeing how determined you all are, I am so confident that you'll make it through this program and will be celebrating this time next year! Don't get discouraged, get a study group, and remember to have fun! you'll lose your mind if you don't! Good luck ladies and let me know if I can help in any way!
  17. Anytime! I'm always checking this thread if anyone needs help with anything
  18. You can wear a blue scrub jacket over your white scrubs. (Just make sure you get a patch for your jacket if you choose to get one) You can get the blue one they want from life uniform in toms river for $16. You can wear a white long sleeve shirt under your whites and a white or black long sleeve shirt under your blues :)
  19. If anyone needs shoes, try looking at work n gear on route 70 in Lakewood. (Near Home Depot) I bought the same nurse mates from life uniform for $40 and they have coupons :)
  20. Got it! :) I just thought if you wanted to get a hint on what we do, you can go to ocvts.org. Go to resources on the top left and click it. Then go to the lpn link. You can see our syllabus for all of the subjects we do. Just to get an idea if you're curious.
  21. Hey! Just know your basic math going in. Towards February, you will need to know med math. They will teach it, but to get a head start you can get the books math for meds. There's formulas you need to know and remember. I hate math and I got through! You'll need to know measurement equivalents. ML-oz, etc. they will give you a sheet of paper to memorize before school starts in the mail. Know that for the first day! For uniforms I got them at life uniform in toms river. Do yourself a favor though and check the office ..........a lot of students bring their old uniforms in for new students and they're free! Save yourself the money! Have a pair of blues and your name badge pretty early on. You won't need your white uniforms until November. You can get everything at life uniform. The name badge takes a while so order that early. A lot of people didn't have them and the teachers weren't happy. We begin clinical in November. We're in clinical until June. It varies from once a week, to a couple times a month, to five days a week towards the end of the year. If you need anything else, ask away! I'm in the program now :)
  22. Ok email me anytime! Good luck with your interview. All of the teachers are very nice so don't be nervous (easier said than done!) just be open and honest, you'll do great
