southern cali accelerated BSN
This is an old list. Half of the accelerated programs in so.cal have been cancelled due to funding. i.e. San Diego State does NOT have an accelerated program, neither does West Coast College.

SUNY 15 mth accelerated program and their pre-reqs
Thanks for the advice about the CC's. But yes, believe it or not NYU does NOT require A&P LAB!! It's posted on their website, and I called to today just to make sure it wasn't a mis-print. You do not even have to take the TEAS before applying. The program is 15 month accelerated BSN, so you are going to school m-f 9-5. working a part-time job is not recommended. So its tough, its hands on so they think labs in A&P aren't necessary. it seems pretty darn easy to get into. Same with Columbia. My husband says this is because the schools cost $80,000! So, yeah, they make it pretty easy to apply b/c if you're willing to pay that much, they're not going to have strict pre-reqs....aaaaannnd we're not. we are not paying that. I won't get finan. aid b/c my husbands income. I may get a scholarship but it won't even pay for 1/2! The state schools are like, less than $20k. SO, now, I'm looking for other 15 month accelerated BSN programs in New York City. I guess, should just worry about taking the pre-reqs tho, and wory abt choosing schools once I'm almost done with them. I just like to have a plan. I'd hate to find out later that the school I get into didn't require some of the classes I'm about to endure over this glorious self-sacrificing summer. Thanks for your help. And if you know of any 15 month programs, please lmk!

SUNY 15 mth accelerated program and their pre-reqs
Hey guys, I'm looking at applying to SUNY'S 15 month accelerated nursing program for Spring 2014. I have a Bachelors in a different degree, but I am lacking 4-5 science classes. I was hoping to knock them all out this summer and fall. SUNY'S program requires A&P I and II with labs, plus Micro w/lab. It seems impossible to cram them in over the summer at a community college while working part-time (classes are 8-12pm MTWR). There are on-line summer courses at Suny but with No lab. WTH? Seems contradicting. On the other hand, I looked at the NYU and Columbia programs, and their requirements are much easier, NO lab requirements for A&P I & II. So I could take the on-line summer course at SUNY that I mentioned and get into NYU, *IF i'd like to pay a cool $75,000! So, i'm obviously going to SUNY (b/c I'm married and will NOT get financial aid (b/c I had a loan out for my 1st degree, and my husband makes "too much money" technically..)). I need major help here people. Another wrench in my plan is that most community colleges in NYC will not let you "just take classes" there without being admitted into a program...?!? Going wacky with the system here.... Any married people at NYU's 15 month that got aid? Any suggestions on OTHER 15 month programs IN NYC? (not outside nyc) that do not require labs? OR- anyone know a great, quick way for me to knock out those A&P lab classes before registration for 2014? Feeling very defeated and ready to forget about nursing entirely.
