ICU or Med-Surge
I know this post is old but I'm currently having this same problem! I got hired on a med surg floor an hour away from where I live. I thought it would be fine bc I did clinical on a med surg floor and liked it just fine. Mind you at a completely different hospital. Anyway, I've been working nights as orientee with pretty much a new grad nurse too. I'm telling you literally every night we've had a rapid response code. I feel like they treat our floor like a step down unit. I also hate the fact that I'm more focused on getting my charting done than actually being with my patient. I know if I wasn't with my nurse helping her pass meds and chart while she dealt with a code, she'd be drowning in charting. I talked to a friend working on the ICU at the hospital closer to me and she loves it. Plus she gets paid more than I do. She didn't even want to do ICU coming out of nursing school. So I'm asking like do you regret switching from med surg to ICU so soon? Or how are you're feelings now?

Need some advice please!!!
I'm pretty sure I'm going to make a C or D in my Anatomy 1 lab. Even if I make As on all of my quizzes and practical. I have making As on all my quizzes since the beginning the semester. What is bringing my grade down so low is the 60% on my first practical. We only get two practicals the whole class so you can imagine how much these practicals impact my grade & how much material is on them. I'm not trying to make excuse though. Since then I have changed my study habits & I'm very hopeful to make an A. Or a B on the next practical which might give me a D! But I have decided that I'm going to retake the class. At my school they take the AVERAGE grade of both classes. I KNOW the second time around I'm going to make an A. So I'm looking at getting a C or B after retaking the lab. But do you think I will still get into a nursing program? I know how hard it is to answer this question considering the many factors of getting in but if anyone can shed some light. I just want to know if getting a C or D in this lab the first time has destroyed my chances of getting in? Will they consider the A I made the second time? Like honestly should I even keep trying? I really really really want to me nurse & I will do anything to get in. But I also know that sometimes you can dream of something & it can't come true in life. No matter how much you want it.

Grades on science pre-reqs
Hey guys! This semester I decided to take microbiology and a nursing chemistry that my college has. I have an 89 in microbiology right now, but I really doubt I'm going to get an A because the tests are pretty much impossible. i only have a high grade because i did an extra credit thing and do really well in lab. also i'm a lost soul in chemistry but i think i'm going to make a b in the class. anyway should i retake these classes even with a b average? so far these classes are the only classes that are specific to getting into the nursing program. most kids got in with 4.0s and like really high HESI tests. but i don't know i have a lot of other classes to take that could help my grade. currently i have a 3.77 GPA. what do ya'll think?
