Hey, I got your message but it wont let me write back. I got hired onto the brand new medical unit that opens in September. I think its 8300 or 8400 I cant quite remember. My start date is July 1st. I would love to get together once settled. I wont know many people either.

My interview was very laid back. It was interesting because they started off by asking "what questions do you have for us?" which was strange for me because thats normally at the end. But it put me at ease since I wasnt on the spotlight yet. They asked me maybe 5 questions. Nothing out of the ordinary "tell me about a time when..." I did do mock interview practice and really studied up on Duke. I was almost like preparing for an exam. BUT every manager is looking for a certain fit for the company culture so its hard to know what did or didnt work for them. I would suggest emailing them and asking about it.

Ya they told me I should hear back no matter what the decision in 1-2 weeks. I know they still had interviews left to do so I understand the wait, I just dont like it! lol.

So I just had my interview last Tuesday and I thought it went great! But the waiting is killing me and tomorrow it will have been one week. Do you remember how long it took them to give you an offer? I loved NC and can really see myself there!

Thanks for the advice, that really helps! If you dont mind, since you were so helpful, I wanna ask a few more questions. If you can recall, how many of you interviewed and how many were hired? It would be nice to know since I am flying all the way out there on my own dime. How long did it take for them to offer a position to you after the interview? As for the scrubs, do they care what color? I see that Duke is Magnet, do they hire associates degree nurses? I would hope so since that is the degree I hold and they are offering me an interview.

I have an interview with Duke May 7th for the Medical Unit. Any advice for me? There is a shadowing experience after the formal interview and my recruiter told me to wear scrubs. Seems unprofessional but what did you wear the the interview? If it is scrubs, just any scrubs we have? So nervous and excited about this!
