  1. Interesting, thank you
  2. Awesome, thanks for the info!
  3. Good to know. I only applied to UIC, and now that I didn't get it, I would have to take even more pre-reqs in order to apply to other schools, but it looks like with DePaul I wouldn't. Have you talked to any students or heard about how the program is?
  4. Thank you for the info. Do they do interviews at DePaul?
  5. For the DePaul program, do you pick a specialty also or is it a general master's program? If you get a general master's, how do you specialize later? How long is the DePaul program?
  6. Me neither. I am shocked. I wonder how many psych people they let in. I don't think it could have been 12.
  7. Don't know for sure, but I would guess email and then official letter?
  8. Great to know! Thanks!
  9. Oh okay thank you :)
  10. What is a letter of intent? Also, who told you there would be 12-13 admitted to the psych GEP? The director?
  11. I'm one of those with a psych degree, but I took all the pre-med classes in case I wanted to do the med school route one day so I have physics, bio, chem, biochem, organic chem, etc. I'm a few years out of college and A&P wasn't a pre-req at my school, so I'm taking it now. In fact, I should really get off this forum and be studying for my A&P test now haha.
  12. Haha I know I know, I still worry though! I just think 12-13 accepted sounds too high. I know someone in acute care entering class of '11, and there are only 4 psych people in his class. I'm really hoping 12-13 is the correct though!
  13. Interesting. Well if I don't get in, hopefully I at least make it to a waiting list (if they have one). I really wish I knew how many were going to be accepted for sure though.
  14. Yeah I'm worried I rambled a little bit haha. We'll see... I'm pretty confident in my application, but hoping I didn't say or do anything in the interview to mess that up and hoping she has equal say in the process. What did you think of the other applicants?
  15. I'm not sure. I was so nervous before my interview I didn't really talk to anyone in detail. I talked to one girl from CT and one from Colorado. Both seemed friendly, but didn't really ask them about school or experience. What did you think? The skype interview went well I think. She was very nice but it was weird talking to a monitor instead of an actual person. I missed that person-to-person contact and am hoping that I'm not at any sort of disadvantage because of that. I'm hoping she has just as much of a say as the other two interviewers who were there in person. How long did your last? Mine only lasted about 20-25 minutes. I felt like I could have said so much more. Good to hear yours went well!
  16. Okay thanks - that makes me feel better. I'd hate to look inflexible or something.
  17. A little nervous that you remember that I had the flight to get to... Do you think it left a bad impression? Honestly? I would have been fine leaving at 4, but I just wasn't sure if I went last, I'd get out by 4.
  18. Didn't she say 20 total, so including GEP students and also those people who are applying directly to the master's program? I could be wrong though. I don't think there were 6 interview dates for our exact program. Maybe that was including other psych programs or something.
  19. I believe they told us in our session there would be 20 people total in the psych program including people outside the GEP program so 12-13 spots for GEP sounds high. I hope that's right though :) Who said it'd be 12-13 for GEP psych?
  20. Yep that was me
  21. Oh okay I remember you, cool! I was the one from Houston.
  22. I was there. Which one were you? I was wearing the navy blue pant suit, named Elissa.
  23. Who told you that they accept 12-13 PMHNP? Was it from the PMHNP faculty? That's great news because I thought they were only accepting a small few.
  24. Thanks for the info regarding PMHNP!
  25. Sittenfeld and Kwolikola - About how many mental health applicants were in your info session? Just trying to get an idea of how many people are applying. Thanks!
