Hi I'm interested in knowing what types of violent situations you may have been exposed to in the ER. Does a lot of it come from drunks? Thanks Matt
  2. I meet with a recruiter tomorrow to see what options are availible!
  3. Well, I went to a hospital today. They had me leave a note and they would give it to the recruiter. They said she will call me. I think the extern program would be neat, but over here it seems like you do have to have completed some of nursing school. I have a feeling they're going to just tell me to apply for the Nurse Tech positions. We'll see though!
  4. Hi everyone I'm a prenursing student with one more year of prerequisites. I was wondering if there were any opportunities for me to gain experience and also to see if nursing is truly for me. Right now I'm working at another job that pays really well, so I'm not willing to let it go so easily, but I would like to do something else (I'm getting burned out with my current job as well). I know there are hospital jobs in my area, but can i do well with my limited experience (i've been a volunteer before)? I guess what I'm asking is what have people done in the past with jobs, and what is the best way work (as in scheduling)? Thanks for your help!
  5. I'm reminded of this one time when I ran into a friend of my parents at the store. I hadn't seen him in a long time, and he asked how school was going and what i was planning to do. I told him I was planning on majoring in nursing...and his response was " :stone oh..............Have you seen Meet the Fockers..." and kind of tried to make a joke about male nurses. *sigh*
