  1. Hello everyone, I have read that you shouldn't wear your stethoscope around your neck, as the oils from your skin will eventually cause the tubing to stiffen. I see nurses wear their stethoscopes around their necks all the time however, including my nursing school lab instructor. My instructor stated that she has had her Littmann for almost 20 years now, and the tubing looks as fine and flexible as can be. Does anyone have any experience regarding this, or any tips or tricks for taking care of my stethoscope? I really like my own Littmann, and I think it would be cool if I could make it last 20 years or so as well. thanks!
  2. I am hoping that you receive some good information - I am curious too.
  3. Orange_dolphin, I am so glad that your tinnitus has become more manageable. I still have decent hearing for the most part, but I worry that my tinnitus will worsen to the point that it drives me crazy. I am starting nursing school this fall, and I do worry about it getting in the way of studying and so on. I am getting a physical before I start classes in the fall, and I'll take advantage of that to bring up my tinnitus and mild hearing loss with my doctor. Maybe I can get a referral to an ear doctor to get a full prognosis for my hearing.
  4. Hey - old post I know, but I was wondering if you have any updates you would like to share regarding your tinnitus. I am in a similar situation.
  5. Nice! Way to go!
  6. I just got my email. I was accepted into the program. Good luck to you and anyone else who applied!
  7. Sure thing.
  8. Same here. I'm bad enough with being attached to my email inbox.
  9. Thanks, your scores are really competitive too. I initially heard a goal for notifying of the first two weeks of May, but then on my test day they mentioned something about May 1st. Who knows though. I'm not really getting my hopes up for hearing so early.
  10. I have a 4.0 GPA for the prereqs they look at, and I scored a 96.8% on the HESI. Your grades and score sound like they are in line with the past cohort's scores. Did you see the pdf with all those scores?
  11. I took my test last Wednesday. I am feeling fairly confident about my chances, but only time will tell. I know early May is their goal for notifications, but did you hear anything about them hoping for notifying people by May 1st? I know they said last Friday was the last test date. Good luck!
