  1. Are 12 hour shifts too long? I have seen many nurses getting burned out at 8 hours. Does the level of care decline when nurses are working 12 hour shifts?
  2. I will be graduating in May with an associates degree. I have plans to continue with my schooling through the summer and should have my BSN before long. I am very interested in becoming a CRNA. My grades are good and I am very motivated. What steps should I take in reaching my goals? I have a job when I graduate on a general med/surg floor, and I know I need critical care experience, but the hospital doesn't allow new grads to work in ICU. Advice from someone who has been in my shoes would be appreciated, I'm kind of lost and have heard many different people's opinions-THANKS!
  3. Should new graduates be able to work in the ICU? Do they have the experience to make critical decisions? How long should they have to work on a general med-surg floor before being allowed to work ICU?

  5. I will be graduating in May and have always done bad on tests in the past. How should I prepare myself to take the N-CLEX? Any suggestions would be helpful. How did you prepare for the test? Was it as hard as you thought it was going to be? Thanks for your help
