I have worked for corizon since they started. I started with correctional medical services and they merged with prison health services. Then they created corizon (correctional healthcare on the horizon). I did receive a nice raise. I am currently comparible with other nursing positions in hospitals. I am in Indiana. I thought maybe you are in Arizona, I know we recently got Arizona. I pass meds to apr. 150 offenders. My time is set at 0830 so I have the 1 hour before and after. I can get it done in about 1 1/2 hours. My officer checks their mouth to see if meds are taken. I do not pre set except if I am going to take medication to segregation or to the youths. I always fill at the time the offender comes to my window and look at the MARS, sometimes I have to check things in the computer. So my computer is very close to my work area. I also pass out the kop's during med pass. There was a different way that I use to pass meds. the mars were marked am and hs. So in the am I would start as soon as I could. there were no patient specific medications and no medications in their cell. So I passed medications to about 400 offenders in the am. This did take a few hours. I like the current way better. I usually am very happy with my job. We are up for contract negotiations and things are getting a little frazzled. For the most part I think we are a good company. Who do you know that is 100% satisfied with their job?
