  1. I failed the NCLEX three times so far, and it has been an emotional roller coaster. The first time around I thought I was prepared, and SANDY came along and my test had to be rescheduled. I studied for another month and thought I was prepared, but my emotions took the best of me. I failed. I went into a minor upset where I rebelled against this exam, BAD IDEA. I did not want to study, and finally I wanted to take it serious. I studied and bought the Hurst book, I failed again. The third time I thought ok I have to pass now, I used Saunders, Hurts, Kaplan and LaCharity. I failed again. and here I am, I have to take a course to reapply for my license. Extremely bummed out about the situation but today I woke up and gathered all of my books. organized my studying schedule and it is not my bed lol and tomorrow I begin. 4th try will be a charm!
  2. I just received my nclex candidate report and it says near the passing standard in all content areas.
  3. I know how you feel. Keep trying and I have been reading different posts and so far it has made me realize that I gave to study smarter and not harder
  4. I will look into it. I just read very good reviews.
  5. This time around I took 265 questions. Majority of them were priority questions and I bought the PDA book just to make sure my priority "skills" are up to part! . I read in the Hurst book that if you fail and you take 265 questions it means that you barely fail. I dont know the truth to it
  6. I bought the PDA book by Lacharity and so far is helping. The first time I took the exam I had bought NCLEX 4000 but I did not use it. I think I will try it out this time around along with the saunders book and the hurst review book.
  7. I would syudy arounf 4 hours a day.
  8. Good LUCK!!!!!!!!
  9. The last time I took my NCLEX, majority of my questions were priority questions. I recently bought this book " Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment: Practice Exercises for Medical-Surgical Nursing, 1e ". I read good reviews and I started doing some of the practice questions. When in doubt, choose the patient that is most likely to die.
  10. When I get a question wrong I usually read the rationale and If i dont fully understand the concept I go to my medsurg book and review.
  11. I have been researching some studying plans and have come across a plan that states to do saunders review questions on the book. If the average is less than 70, then you will read the chapter. However, my friend passed her first time around. She did use saunders and told me to review both right and wrong questions and then just read in the chapter the pages related to those questions you got wrong. I recently bought the hurst review book, and so far it is giving me reassurance that I will pass the next time. I hope this helps. And as far as study group, we can motivate each other!!!
  12. Hello Guys, I just received my results and I failed a second time. The first time I knew I failed because all of my questions were geared to the infection control topic. I remember it was the worst feeling ever walking out of the testing center and calling your friends that had already passed. I did the pearson trick and obviously got the bad pop up. I gave up on my studies and was so sad and angry at myself. My friend kicked some sense in me. I studied a second time. This second time I used the Kaplan book along with the saunders book. I felt more confident and thus signed up to take the exam a second time. This second time around my quesions were all priority questions, however I felt more confident. I did not do the pearson trick because I have really bad anxiety. I woke up today, checked and guess what? I failed again. Now Im devastated. I bought the hurst review book, also received a studying plan from my friend. Failing a first time was bad, failing a second time feels worst. Any suggestions?
