Yup I have a BSN. It's just hard to get a job especially when one has limited options. Lol I can't drive and all I have is BLS certification. So it's hard to get one where I live though there are job openings. I really wish they can give new grads a chance. I said Bronx, NY because my aunt lives there and she's a LPN and I can still get referred by her but don't want to make any hasty decision without researching my facts. Like "not.done.yet." said, upstate is one of the toughest markets for new grads.

Thank you all! Do you think it would be hard for me to get hired in an OB floor or even nursery as a new grad? I love working with moms and babies. I was considering med-surge or telemetry but I'm kinda scared of the stress and fast-paced environment even though some say it's a good place to start.

Hello!! :) I'm in a bit of dilemma and need help. I graduated last December and got my RN license in March and still haven't gotten a job in Florida in my area. I'm considering Bronx, NY but I would like to know what's the nurse to patient ratio for specialties such as med-surge, Postpartum/Mother-Baby, Telemetry and/or community/rehab? Is it hard to get a job over in the Bronx and as a new grad? I've tried many places in Broward County, FL but no luck...Any suggestions?

Hi, I am a new grad living in Florida and I'm really interested and passionate about working with mothers and newborns. :):) What is a typical day on the unit like? Is there any specific qualifications that one needs to work in postpartum? Also what is the pay/hr for a new grad working on a mother/baby floor?
