PriorPN, I'm just relaxing. My recruiter said she'll submit my packet when she hears anything. For now, I am doing a little travel nursing.

My recruiter emailed me to tell me that the DA goal was zero. Therefore, no boards 2014 and questionable 2015. I told her i've known that since Dec. So I guess I move on....LoL.

I have been talking with an AF recruiter and pretty much the only options we have is to give up, wait on the Navy's maybes, or switch branches with a better chance of going in. All the decisions...there is still no guarantee that FY 2015 that they will take DA. Is anyone else going through it and over the uncertainty?

That is so unfortunate. I am beginning to believe that it is all true because I have called, texted, and emailed my recruiter with no response. So is anyone going to switch to reserves? What are the benefits of being reserves?

My recruiter is ignoring me. I have tried to contact her with no resolve. I am beginning to think that Vinstafa's recruiter was right. If so, what are you all going to do?????

I am going to contact her on Monday. I hope your recruiter is wrong also....LoL.

vinstafa, When you say NEW nurses...are you talking straight out of school new or new to the Navy new????? So they are only looking for experienced nurses?????

I pray that January 2014 will be the month that the recruiters receive some numbers. I know for me...I began this journey January 2013 with all my paperwork complete by April 2013 to be told quotas are met and Oct 2013 is the time. Oct 2013....government shutdown.....left all applicants in limbo. On a positive note...I hope all my future DA had a blessed Christmas and a great new years.

PriorPN, I totally agree with. All of this at the end of the month is false. It is just a way for the recruiters to keep up holding on. The problem is congress. They need to sit down and come up with a defense budget so we can all move on. They have a lot of qualified nurses in limbo.

I wish the rumors would stop...LoL. Better yet...they should just stop leading us all on. Either you are going to accept DA this FY or not. I spoke with an AF recruiter and he just told me they are not accepting anyone at the time. They will reassess (nursing jargon..LoL) in March. I pray that January will be the month because it would be exactly one year of the process for me. I am a very black or white person, this maybe or maybe not is killing me...LoL.

I spoke with my recruiter yesterday and she said there is still no news. No boards until they release the quotas. I also had the opportunity to speak with LCDR that has connections to some people that has/does serve on the DA boards. He told me that the delays are due to the budgeting constraints andorganization shifts within Medicine for the Navy, Army, and Air Force; Some of the original deadline dates for processes affected by funding (to include recruitment into the services) have been delayed until further notice. HAS ANYONE HEARD DIFFERENTLY???????? It has been a year since I started this process and still nothing. I must stay hopeful.

I haven't heard that. However, I have not spoken with my recruiter in a while. I am not going to contact her until the first week of Dec. Hopefully, God willing, she should know something.

Nonalcoholic, I am right there with you. My husband and kids are waiting....cant say patiently though...LoL. We shall see....LoL.

vinstafa...From what my recruiter told me is that my packet has been scanned to the program manager and awaiting the board. I am ready for this process to be over. However, I have learned the art of patience.

TJOCKISBONDE, Did your recruiter tell you that? If so, did they call you or did you call them? I am just asking bc mine told me that they were unable to submit anything until those numbers were selected. I am going to have to contact my recruiter on Monday.

I would go to my recruiters office, but she's 30-40 min away...LoL. I guess this is the best time to study for my CMC even though I really don't want to...LoL. The name of the game is....StAy BuSy

I think the recruiters are ignoring all of us being that they have no information. Does anyone know how the other branches were able to make selections and not the Navy???? Just wondering. LoL. Stay positive and stay busy....LoL.

Well....I'm just praying for an answer sooner rather than later. It is a bit frustrating to know that all the other branches had boards except the Navy. I wonder why??????

I have heard that the military is looking to reduce the number of people in and trying to get in. I hope that doesn't include the medical/nursing field. We are NEEDED worldwide. I emailed my recruiter and haven't heard anything. Therefore....I wait until......whenever.

Has anyone heard anything lately? I've been trying to keep busy so I would not think about whats going on.

The way I figure it is this is the best opportunity to improve on my skills and achieve more certifications. I have been a nurse for almost 6 years and I am anxious also. The way I look at it that if it is God's will I will make it. There is so much power in your thoughts. Let's stay positive and hopeful. HRThompson-WoodRN, Where are you from???

I hope you all are ok. I received a text from my recruiter that all is on hold at this moment. They are waiting for guidance from the program managers. The Air Force didn't accept that many people this year either. All I can say that if it's God's will...it'l happen. I am just staying positive and keeping my skills right. Lets keep each other informed.

My recruiter has too gone MIA. I am waiting semi-patiently foursome response. Gov't...please open.

I will be so excited with these politicians get it together because they are causing the military some eager nurses. I have been praying that despite the government shutdown that the boards are still held and decisions will be made soon.
