Stark State
Does anyone know anything about the Stark State Nursing Program? I heard they were recently put on provisional status and wasn't quite sure what that meant.

ABSN or ADN then RN-BSN bridge program?
Yah.....it just seems a little crazy to me. How can people take all these classes in such a short time and still get good grades?! I would like to finish as soon as possible but I also want to be able to spend time with my family. I just don't think there is enough time to really learn all the material and get good grades in such a compressed timeline.

ABSN or ADN then RN-BSN bridge program?
Thank you very much for your input. I'll have to check out the traditional program at my local university. I have heard that the market is not good right now. Hopefully things will change by the time I am done with school. My desire is to work in L & D.....is this a coveted unit where you think I'll have to earn some time in other units before I get the opportunity to work there? I'm sure the area I live in plays a big part but I wondered what your experience has been. Does everyone have their own ideal unit they would like to work in?

ABSN or ADN then RN-BSN bridge program?
I currently hold a bachelors degree and could do an accelerated program but I'm worried about it being too much work and moving too fast for me. There is one semester where I'd be taking 18credits! I feel like taking a couple classes at a community college each semester might be an easier pace for my family and I. However, I hear hospitals are no longer hiring ADN's and instead are focusing on BSN grads only. Thoughts?

ABSN
Has anyone gone through the ABSN program at Akron U? I already have a Bachelors Degree and was considering the accelerated program but I'm concerned about it being so intense that I won't get to spend anytime with my family. I'm also concerned about being able to keep good grades.....there is one semester where I would be taking 18credits! That's a lot for someone without a family to take care of. My other option would be going to a community college......taking 2-3 classes per semester and get my ADN and then get to work on an RN-BSN bridge program. I know a lot of hospitals are only hiring BSN's right now so that's what makes me think of doing the ABSN program. Any thoughts?

I am thinking about going to school to become an RN but I'm not sure if it's the right time. My daughter is 6yrs old and I'm afraid of missing out on school functions because I'll be studying all the time. Should I wait until she gets older? Also, some local hospitals just had some layoffs and that is weighing in on my decision too. Any thoughts?- Thinking about nursing
Sooooooo I've been thinking about starting nursing school, however, some of my local hospitals have had layoffs lately. I'm concerned that this may not be the best time for a career change. Thoughts? - New nursing student
