  1. Thank you, estrellaCR! I'll be working for Cohen's, peds med/surg.
  2. Thank you bebbercorn! Please keep me updated on your progress at Stony Brook. I think it's a fantastic hospital, too bad I can't work at both locations
  3. I received an offer yesterday from Stony Brook as well as two other hospitals. After long consideration, I've decided to take another job offer. Good luck to you guys at Stony Brook!
  4. @bebbercorn, I actually interviewed for the orthopedic floor which they are still interviewing for according to the nurse manager even though the position closed last week. I guess it's a popular position.
  5. Congratulations bebbercorn! That's fantastic! My old employer called me earlier this week to tell me he received a fax from Stony Brook to verify my dates of employment.
  6. My preceptorship was nights, 12 hr shifts. I took a hot shower as soon as I got home and used a dark eye mask, which molds around your eyes and nose, when I slept. It really helped fooling the body into thinking it was night time. It takes a while to adjust but you'll get the hang of it. good luck!
  7. @Agill1 a week after you. But in my experience with other facilities, it usually takes at least 2-3 weeks to hear back regardless of whether they are offering you a position or not. Don't lose hope!
  8. Thanks SherluckyRN, good luck to you as well!
  9. I will! Hopefully Stony Brook requesting more recommendations is a good sign!
  10. No it doesn't, I'm on pins and needles at this point. It sucks, I wish there was a PVT for interviews
  11. Hopefully we will, fingers crossed! I'm actually signed up to go to the career fair, thanks for the info! Did you apply for the ED Fellowship or the regular position that's currently up?
  12. My experience was very similar. Everyone was very pleasant and the interview with the recruiter as well as the nurse manager and the floor staff was very laid back. They didn't ask questions that never seem to have a correct answer: "what is your weakness?" Did the recruiter tell you when the orientation would be if you got the position? I was told April 11th.
  13. No, I interviewed for the ortho floor. I did however see people that day who were interviewing for the ED. What position did you apply for?
  14. Hi Paws2people! Thank you for your response! what position did you interview for? I was told that they can't give me a decision until the posting for the position closes on the website.
  15. It never hurts to show your interest in a position, I say go for it!
