I have worked for Corizon for almost 2 years. Not sure what state your contract is with but I'm in Missouri. We do not allow pre pouring and psych meds are all watch take. So are anti seizure meds, gabapentin, HIV and TB meds. I enjoy working for Corizon. I used to work in hospitals but was not willing to take on a management position. At Corizon, I felt I would be supported and not left hanging out to dry so to speak. Within 6 months, I was promoted to DON. I have had a lot of support and guidance as well as a mentor. Good luck!
  2. What about having the guards take a certified med aid course? It's typically a 12-16 hour course taught by an RN and is the same course CNAs take to pass meds in an RCF.
