  1. You'll get in, don't worry. I believe they look at your test scores well as your character. Just hang in there and remember, patience is a virtue!
  2. The selection process for my LPN admittance consisted of several parts. First there was a pre-test and you have to get a minimum score on that part. If you pass that then there was another test that consisted of more math (basic) algebra, geometry, grammar, and some other stuff. Both of those test were held in the same day. If you passed the first part (you found out the same day) you were given a packet to get a physical, shots, drug test, send off for transcripts, background check, references....After the school had ALL of those items, if you were chosen, they called you in for an interview with a doctor and other staff. Then you had to write a 200 word essay on why you want to be an LPN. If you passed that part they called you in to do your financial aid. If that was ok, you may get accepted! BOY that was a very long long process. As you can see this was a very tedious and competitive process. I didn't take anything for granted in this process because my school only offers to programs 2 times per year and they only accept 20 students out of many. I would say the entire process took about 5 months! Way to long....it was complete and utter TORTURE!!!!!!!! All worth it...I'll be sitting in my seat so excited on March 11!!!! Good luck!
  3. Oh, I forgot to say make sure you dress professional. I wore a pants suit with a white button down blouse. Make sure you keep the jewelry to a minimum. My earrings were small pearls without a necklace or bracelet. I'm not saying the suit is a must, but the doctor that interviewed me did pay me a compliment on it! You wouldn't believe the outfits I witnessed! Hot pink pants, zebra print shoes, multi-colored mini skirts with lace leggings...it was awful! After my interview, I was also required to write an essay and they had me go into the computer lab. Some of the students started talking to me and actually thought I was an instructor because of my appearance! So funny! Just put your best foot forward and go knock em' out!
  4. Mother of 3 AP Tech Start March 2013 12 month program Graduate March 2014 Well were do I start...nervous & excited at the same. This is a HUGE transition. I left my job of over 6 years to go back to school full-time. This is only 1 of 2 LPN progams in the area and they only accept 20 students at a time! I feel so blessed to have been chosen. No stop'n me now! Good luck everyone!
  5. If you are good in math you won't have a problem. My test included basic math along with a little algebra & geometry. As for the interview, just remain calm & poised & be sincere.
