  1. I will definitely look into joining! But first I am trying to get some Informatics CEU's completed so that I can apply them towards renewing my nursing license. Still working on them on the nursing-informatics.com website.
  2. Hi everyone! So my hospital is transitioning from McKesson with Clinical Care Station over to AllScripts. We've had McKesson for the past 5 years or so, but this EHR was only used on the inpatient side of the hospital. The other side, that being the Emergency Department, had another EHR, and the two systems never communicated. Why, you ask, was this an arrangement that was though up? I have no idea, but it usually comes down to cost and what those in higher positions say they will be using. My role currently is in Nursing Informatics, or being a superuser at this time, due to the fact that our department only consists of a handful of us, about 6 superusers. I just got into this role about 2 months ago and have been immersing myself within McKesson so that I can, hopefully, become some sort of an expert on the system so that I can help nurses when they get stumped. My background is in the ED at this same hospital. I put 3 years into the ED here and actually had a pleasant time with their EHR. It's dead simple, has rarely any issues that I've experienced and I felt very comfortable teaching it to new staff and registry when they worked with us. Now that I've learned this new system (to me anyways) and have been able to guide nurses when in need, this is now the time that the hospital decides to change it all up again for me. My hospital is now transitioning from McKesson to AllScritps! I wanted to know if anyone out there has any educational resources or any tips and tricks for using this new system. We as superusers have started playing around with a test environment of the system, but still have much to learn before we start to teach the rest of the nurses in the hospital. If anyone has any experience, advice of well wishes, please drop them here :) I've read reviews about the use of AllScripts in different nursing fields and have seen varied reviews. Please let me know what you guys think of AllScripts! Thank you very much! HAPPY NURSES WEEK!!!
  3. Nursing Informatics Learning Center.
  4. I was curious the CEU's from the website Nursing Informatics Learning Center are acceptable in the US. I came from an ER background, 3yrs, and am now transitioning to Nursing Informatics. I was able to get into the same hospital I worked ER at and get into their Informatics department, which is tiny only having about 6 people working in it, including me. Because we are a small hospital our role is mostly being a super user for the hospital. I've been at it for about 2 months now working night shifts on my own. Because we are a small hospital, they have 1-2 superusers in the AM and 1 during the PM shift, 12hrs shifts. I would like to further my education within the nursing informatics field and therefore would like to get certified. If you have any others words of wisdom for someone transitioning over it would be most appreciated! Thank you very much!
  5. Not sure if anyone asked this already, but everyone with the interviews currently has applied to the Prelicensure BSN Program right? I've applied to the RN-BSN program and just called the SoN. They stated that all of the RN-BSN program applicants won't hear about admission until the second week of April. All these postings about interviews and hearing from the school were making me anxious
  6. Hi again. Sorry for rattling everyone up. My friend has heard from CSULB but he's in a different major. I called up CSULB and they said Nursing was the last major to send letters out. The School of Nursing then said that we won't hear until April or so regarding acceptance. I just had a question, how do you calculate your score? Thanks
  7. Has anyone heard from CSULB yet regarding acceptance to the school? I've heard that other people have already received acceptance emails.
