Thanks for the responses. Its nice to know Im not the only one. I dont have a SO but their dad helps a lot with them. So I know I can rely on him. Its going to take a lot of changes but I have the summer to get it all together and somewhat organized. :)

I currently work in oncology as a tech and I float all over the place when I can. I absolutely love oncology!! Every unit I work on makes me love oncology more. Next summer after level two Im applying to MD Anderson in Houston for a 6 week internship. They do cancer research ect. I would love to be a research nurse or work in infusion and see the positive side of cancer treatment. I also love hospice but as the death toll rises on my unit it can be overwhelming some days. So not sure about the long term hospice nursing job, but its something I would love to try for a while.

I recieved my acceptance letter two weeks ago! Yay!! So now Im consumed with worry and doubt and complete fear. I work full time, go to school full time, and have three kids. Ive done great in my pre-reqs although it seems Im loosing steam lately in patho 2. Im just so tired. But now with the acceptance letter theres a light at the end of the tunnel. The work load will be intense, the stress overwhelming but all worth it in the end. But as I think about it how will I juggle the schedule the clinicals and the homework with everything else going on? I have to work Im a single mom. Is there anyone out there that juggles it all like this? How do you do it and stay motivated? I know I want to be a nurse more than anything and I cant back out now. Im just afraid I wont get through it with all my obligations.

Im a tech in Oncology and we loose patients quite often. Sometimes its harder than others and its easy to get close to them as they live through their last days. Ive learned that each one of them has an enormous impact on how I see life every day. No matter how hard my job is or how rough my day was before that its nothing compared to what they go through. I truly love hospice and love oncology and it has paved my career path as I enter into nursing school this year. I hope your experience with patient death is a positive influence in your life and career path. I know that sounds weird but it really can be a positive and allow us to value human life and work harder to take care of it. On of the best pieces of advice I got was from an amazing experienced nurse. I was destroyed by one of my patients just falling apart, his family was falling apart and he was headed to hospice. I was in tears for the first time. She told me all the best nurses and most experienced nurses still cry, and thats ok. ***hugs***

Thank you!! I have to work and thank goodness my job is very supportive of my education. Im a tech in Oncology and have some really great nurses that are always there to help. I know its going to be a lot of work but I can do this!!!

OMGosh I got accepted!!! Got the email yesterday while at work!! Im still in complete disbelief! Not sure if I'm posting this in the right place. But I had a few questions, what should I expect when I start? Work load, homework load? I work full time, do any of you work and go to school? Yayyyyyy!!!
