  1. Hello everyone, I am happy to say that I am now a student nurse in a BSN program! I use to post on here worrying that I would not get in the program and now here I am in my second semester! Anyways, I had an embarrassing happening today, has any other male been accidentally hit in the groin by a patient during clincals? Just wondering because it happened to me today and it was kinda embarrassing because I'm the only male in my group lol Just was curious to get a discussion on embarrassing things that happen during clinicals.
  2. thanks Jory, I send you a message, if you don't mind replying it would be great!
  3. Thanks for the advice for Jory!. By the time I apply to take NCLEX, it would have been 5 years since I had it dismissed. I will stay positive!
  4. Do you think i will be denied a license over a dismissal?
  5. Okay but I'm not trying to expunge a conviction, because there was no conviction. I just have a dismissed case I want to expunge.
  6. Hello guys, I am so worried right now. Im currently in college, hoping to get into nursing program soon for my bachelors in Texas. My question is, can I still be a licensed nurse if I have one DUI, that did not lead to a conviction, it was dismissed. I havnt gotten in any other trouble and that happened two and a half years ago. How would it help if I got it expunged??
  7. thanks guys, your comments are very encouraging. I will continue my goal to be a nurse :)
  8. congratulations =D....but I have most of my basics, I really wanted a bachelor since I have every requirement for it. Thanks for your optimism =]
  9. Has anyone here ever doubt that they would ever be admitted into a nursing program?? Im currently 21 and I'm about to finish all my pre requisites in one more semester. I just went for advisement with the counselor today and for some strange reason, i felt discouraged. She said not everyone makes it in and thats why its good that I have a plan B, but to me there is no plan B, this is what I want to do. I can only apply for this once a year, and It feels like a long shot, my gpa is probably around 3 or 3.1, but i have a few more classes to take to try and bring that up. Did you ever have these feelings and how did you overcome them? Just looking for some advice, thanks =]
  10. Thank you, for your optimism =]
  11. Cool what advice would you give to someone like me who wants to get into nursing?
  12. I was working on getting into a nursing program but I barely ran into this sight. Reading through all the negative comments on this site I'm not sure if this is something I should pursue, even if Ive been so happy to thinking that this was right for me. If this dosent work out I just don't know what other type of career id want to pursue. Is there anyone who has gone through this and everything turned out good?? Or is there really no hope?
  13. Were you very nervous when you first started to make these type of decisions?? How did you over come them??
  14. Anyone have any experiences with judgment calls?? What type are made by a nurse?? I'm just wondering, thanks for any experiences =]
  15. Thanks for that =]. Im planning on trying to volunteer so I can take a closer look inside and see how I feel about it. While I work on my basics of course!
  16. Okay I understand this advice, but I was wondering if its not wise to volunteer and maybe try to shadow with nurses and see how I like it? And if i do like it I can continue to pursue nursing?? Or is it unwise to do that and try something more basic?? I just ask because Im pretty much done with all my basics, so it seems logical for me to go two years for my nursing. Has anybody faced this type of issue too??
  17. wow guys thanks a lot for your information. And yes I am already looking into volunteering and will soon be contacting my local hospitals for these opportunities. I just want to be a nurse, what can I say lol
  18. Hmm, good points. I didn't think being a male could be seen as to my advantage
  19. I will look into that too =] thank you!
  20. How do these two compete?? Ive heard a lot about jobs with nursing, is it any better with an associates in medical technology?? Do people with a degree in medical technology have a hard time finding a job and making a good career?
  21. how are those jobs for people with a degree in medical technology?? How does that look?
  22. I guess you can say that for a lot of markets, not just nursing??. Seems like teachers are also having a hard time
  23. Thanks for the info and advice. I just don't know where Ill go if not this, its something I really wanted to pursue.
  24. I feel so discouraged and worried, I really want to be able to be in a career where Im able to help people. I feel so stuck, I just don't know what to do....
