  1. New as DON and have monthly meeting for nurses and one for C.N.A.s. How can I get information out there so it doesn't feel like I am just pointing out everything that is wrong for an hour. How can I make them fun and educational. Getting ready for first survey needlepoint preparing staff ideas?
  2. The DON and ADON rotate call every other week. I got called back in once this week having to cancel a Dr appointment for the second time and this weekend was home with stomach flu and 101 fever, no way I could go in.
  3. it has been the worst week ever this week. We have had the stomach flu run rampant throughout residents and staff. The DON and ADON can't always cover the floor. How do other facilities handle mandatory overtime and does anyone have a system for staff taking turns being on call?
  4. Gets out when she wants to. 60 to 65 residents 2 nurses 8 aides
  5. I have been a DON for approx 6 weeks. I have several nurses but one or two in particular who never seem to be able to get there work done in their scheduled shift. they are scheduled 8 shifts a pay period but end up getting paid for almost 80 because they stay over daily (except their weekends). I don't know what to do. The previous DON did coachings with them with no change. I am behind on my own job and I'm not going to do their work for them. Any suggestions?
