I thought about that and fortunately space A flights go out from Misawa to Washington about every week... However your right I would plan in advance better to be too early then late or crunched for time... I have family in Florida"/ so I don't know I guess I would have to figure it out!! I found out that Misawa has a testing center for EC exams on base... And I also just found out that there are space A flights to settle, WA so I'm wondering if anyone knows if there is a clinical testing site for the CPNE in Washington?? Any info would be really helpful..! Thanks Franchesca

Hey everyone so we just got orders to Misawa Japan. Just want some advise from EC current oversea students or EC vets. Should I start EC now? Or wait til I'm overseas? Does anyone know how doing EC from overseas works? Such as where testing sites are located? Any information would help... I just don't want all the pre requisites that I took to expire, nor to be over there without being able to find a job and doing nothing allowing my skills to wither... Please help!

I am an LPN but no I haven't started the program trying to see if I can get into one here on site in the city I am in... I kinda worry about the fact that excelsior isn't excepted everywhere and the price. Are you gonna do your CPNE overseas? Or are you coming back to the states to do that weekend clinical?? I find out in March if I get into the programs here so if its a no go I might start excelsior in April..! But I'm still debating!"/ thanks for the email I'll keep it in my contacts:)

Really that must be new cause when I talked to them the other day they said as long as they were ACA accredited that they would accept them... Or something like that!

Thanks for all the advise... I'm sure that if my husband PCSes that we will be going with him. There are only some bases where I can't go with him and most of those are considered remote tours.. Unfortunately we don't know where we might get stationed at, but I do know that excelsior is accepted by the federal government so if I find a job on base my license being from excelsior shouldn't be a problem. I don't speak any of those languages just Spanish... But I don't want to get mixed up into having to learn overseas protocols for nursing I rater keep it on American soil (base) if I can if not I would prob volunteer and continue my education (BSN) to not lose my touch while out of work;)

I am also a military spouse I am taking boards for my LPN on the 14th of this month, but also trying to get my RN as soon as possible due to the fact that we might be PCSing overseas... And I want to finish my clinical career part of my education without putting everything on hold and then on top of that possibly not find any work!!! considering going through Excelsior since its self paced.

Thanks LunahRN... I figured if I couldn't find a job at least I have my RN and I'm not putting my career on hold... However, I think as an RN it would be easier to find work than as an LPN!! Thanks

Thanks for the info guys.. I have all the prerequisite classes except for that info literacy and I'm taking micro right now but I'll be done with it in May... I test for my LPN on the 14th of this month... Which I'm super anxious about! However, I think if we get orders overseas I'll be more employable with an RN verses an LPN! On a side note I heard that info literacy class is given by penn foster for only $80, and it transfers to Excelsior!?
