  1. Thank you for the info and congrats!
  2. Kelsey- Can you tell us what date you have to make a decision by? This wait is excruciating!!!
  3. CONGRATS!!! hooray! Do you mind sharing your GPA?
  4. Congratulations ajchir!! and thank you for the update!
  5. I'm betting that decisions will be mailed March 1st, and their should be a difference in what we see on our MyUNC accounts that day or soon after(based on previous application cycles comments on here:-) @dane2010: THANKS! and good luck to you as well! @amyibclc: From what I have seen working in an ER, I think vets make some of the best nurses! Even though we qualify as residents for tuition purposes I am curious if being military/transient helps or hurts us, or even matters... I am worried that they would not chose me out of fear that I would drop out of the program because my husband will eventually have to PCS, because I would definitely not. Anyway, good luck to you! I think you have a very good shot!!
  6. I am getting so nervous/stressed/excited to hear about admissions into the program!!!! Anyone else? Starting Friday (the 1st), I will be checking MyUNC every hour!! Also, anyone have any ideas about how the school views non-residents?
  7. I found the same info as some of you about decisions being made on March 1st; the last two years of applicants were notified then! The past few ABSN cohorts were notified 9-10 weeks out as well. I would love to find out in 6 days @dane2010: political science and studio arts. Psych is a great background for nursing!
  8. @Dane2010 VERY nerve wracking. Especially considering that the Denver school's orientation is March 21st! I also feel bad waiting till the last minute to tell the Denver school that I won't be attending, if I end up getting into CH. I'd rather let the school know that they can let someone else have my spot. What was your first degree in and what pre-reqs do you have left? @UNChopeful oh my, I can't imagine having to wait even LONGER that the rest of us! In my experience on cruises, sometimes there are random spots of service, so hopefully you can still get some internet!! :)
  9. I didn't apply to UNC-CH's ABSN. I found out that I was to move to NC just in time to apply to the BSN. If I don't get in, I will be going to an ABSN in Denver that starts April 1st Did you apply to other schools?
  10. Your stats seem good to me, and you should be fine since you're a first-degree seeker! I agree the cumulative GPA's are tough because the range of schools and majors are so broad... What I would like to know is how many people applied for this 2 year BSN? Looking at the UNC-CH website, it doesn't say the percent of applicants applying for the BSN and ABSN...just that 400-500 apply and they accept 64 for the ABSN and 104 for the BSN. My guess is that more people apply for the ABSN...
  11. I got a 3.8 on pre-reqs and science but cumulative undergrad GPA is laughable (
  12. I think I will try to call next week, and will for sure post here about it. The absn program I got into is in Colorado, starting April 1st. I REALLY need to know sooner than that if I am getting into UNC-CH:nailbiting: ! My husband is in the Army..and about to be stationed in North Carolina. Does anyone know how the school views out of state students? It seems like most of us are second degree seeking.... Wolfpackmommy: Since you were waitlisted, I would love to know what your application looked like..GPA/healthcare experience/etc... if you don't mind sharing.. Good luck everyone!
  13. Hello! I am glad this thread was started! I am a second degree BSN seeker applying for May 2013. @kelsey939- I am also seriously wondering if I want to take two years to complete a BSN when I could do it much faster(I just got accepted into an ABSN as well, much more expensive though). What does everyone have for healthcare experience/volunteering/GPA? I feel like I am out of my league, being that UNC-CH is so highly ranked. After reading the thread from May 2012, so many of the 2nd-degree seekers were not admitted, and it seemed like the undergrads are preferred. March cannot come soon enough!!

  15. Hello Chupe- Have you gotten a call yet? I too, am applying for the Summer 2013 start date at UCCS. I actually didn't know that they held interviews until I emailed the school and asked how they would notify me of my admissions decision. The person who replied said that my name was not on the list of "rejects" so expect a call today or tomorrow. I didn't get a call today, but hopefully tomorrow. My pre-req GPA was 3.7, but my undergrad GPA is embarrassing. My HESI was 84, I have some healthcare work and volunteer experience, and my essay is definitely my strongest point. I really hope to get in to UCCS, because the other school I was accepted into in CO is private and expensive. Let me know what happens, and I will do the same!!
