I'm not exactly sure about the scheduling, but I do know you have to be available m-f 7am to 7pm, but we won't be in class the whole time it will vary each semester. Also another nursing student told me each semester lasts 4 months and then classes change. I guess we'll find out the details on Thursday I'm so excited to start as well :) see you there!

My meeting is also on April 11th @ 4:30 pm to discuss details of the program and financial aid etc .. Got my transcripts sent and doing my physical and drug screen this week :) maybe ill see you on Thursday :)

Don't give up jujubees! Use this time to build up ur experience or volunteer work and try again! You will get in eventually with dedication :) good luck to you!!

I actually heard back in feb and they told me that I didn't make the first round but thankfully I did the second round! Hopefully you hear back soon jujubees please update if u get in!! Best of luck

I too have been accepted into the may cohort! I was also told that the earliest you could complete the drug screen was march 17th, or no more than 2 months prior to the start date and by the application deadline. Hope to see some of you in class in may, cheers :)

Hi Jujubees, I was told the soonest would be Feb 6th or after so im hoping to hear back soon! I recently finished the MA program in December of 2012. I originally planned on going straight into the January start class for the nursing program and not working as an MA during the program. My reason for taking the MA course was soley for the experience to gain entrance in the ADN program, but i was pleasantly surprised with the great thorough education and experience i received and agree that it will benefit me during nursing school. Now that i have a few months from now until the start of the program, I was planning on just working my job as a server downtown and honestly enjoy the time until school starts. I know it is going to be intense and take up all of my time, so if I were you i would enjoy the time and prepare yourself mentally as well as your family or loved ones for the rigorous schooling you are about to face. Since graduating from the MA program, the career services department has been ACTIVELY helping me on a daily basis with new job opportunities! They do a great job. Nadia in the career services department actually sent my resume without me even knowing and got me an interview this monday! I don't believe that it is THAT hard to find employment after graduating from Kaplan, if you are actively searching and applying! I know several students that graduated with me that have found jobs or were hired onto their externship site. Its more based on the individual and their determination to find a job! anyways, goodluck in these next few weeks of waiting and let me know if you hear back from admissions as well! :)

Hello everyone! I too applied for the may 2013 ADN program at Kaplan, SD. They told me that there are 20 guaranteed seats for LVN to RN step up, and everyone else is competing for the remaining 45 seats. They said to shoot above a 90% on the KTP in reading and math, writing is not counted unless necessary. I vaguely ywent over study guide and got a 93 in math and 91 in reading and a 30 on the wonderlic. I think if you are nervous use the study guide to your advantage and you should be fine :) I know that my packet has been submitted for acceptance, and I was told they would be calling me around the first week of February. I don't think private schooling is ideal for all, I know for myself it wasn't my first choice. I decided to go to Kaplan after years of waiting for community college acceptance, with no avail. I am a recent graduate of Kaplans MA program (alumni get points towards their acceptance!) I went this route because my plan was to go straight into the RN program and not work. I have been very pleased with the education I have received at Kaplan thus far and am very excited to begin the ADN program, that is if I get in! Also, you ARE able to transfer the credits to Kaplan university or university of Phoenix, as previously mentioned in this thread. Overall, I think that the ADN program is a good one that is thorough and there are good passing rates on the NCLEX!
