  1. Sigh. Thanks for the quick reply guys!
  2. Hi, As you all know, almost all students who graduated abroad are having close to 0% chance of getting an ATT from CA BON. So I thought about this idea. Please read and let me know if it could actually work. I've already applied to take the NCLEX for AZ since I knew I would run into the concurrency issue here in CA. So my plan is to get my RN License in AZ and work there for 1 year or more. Just long enough to get my experience to be able to apply for an NP Program. I would then apply to an NP Program here in CA. After finishing the course and fulfilling the necessary requirements, I would then apply here in CA to get my NP License so I could ultimately work here in CA as an NP, instead of an RN. CAN THIS WORK? Any thoughts, opinions, or ideas would be appreciated! Thanks so much!
  3. Hi NPs, Since all of you have already gone through the process of becoming an NP. I was wondering if this plan would work. Please read and give me your thoughts. In order to avoid having the CA BON check my transcripts which are foreign, because I graduated outside the US, my plan is to get my AZ RN License first and work there for 1 year or so. I've already applied and will take the NCLEX for AZ soon. Afterwards, I would apply for an NP Program here in CA. After completing the classes and requirements, I would then apply to get my NP License by examination here in CA so I can actually work here instead of in AZ as an NP instead of an RN. CAN THIS WORK? I've done a bit of research on general NP Programs and most require at least 1 year of actual hospital work experience for application. I haven't read anywhere about specific state requirements or other issues regarding transcripts, etc. All info, opinions, thoughts, and ideas would be helpful! Thanks so much for your time!
  4. Hello everyone. I am a U.S. citizen and I am currently taking up nursing in the Philippines. I will be graduating in April 2013. I went to the website for the Texas BON and I read their requirements. However, it is still unclear to me whether I have to take the local board here in the Philippines before having to take the NCLEX in Texas. I have no problem with taking the local board here in the Philippines, it's just I don't want to waste time studying for the local board when I could be studying for the NCLEX instead. And the local board is in July 2013. Please let me know specifically and simply, if I have to take the local board for the Texas NCLEX and give me your thoughts on how I should handle this situation. Thanks in advance for your help, input, and advise. Have a blessed day.
