  1. Paire nurse ! Am motivated now! Yes am open to anything that I get . I have already got 6 months of LTC experience in Toronto . Now I want something in the hospital . Hope I get that in alberta :)))
  2. That's nice! They also get some Money from the northern initiative right? But am sure those places have slowest life. I see on AHS most of northern are casual positions though . Impossible to run the house with casual isn't it?
  3. Am an LPN will I also receive a differential? Or it's just for a RN?
  4. I would love to try rural areas . Toronto is anyways the same for me without a car... I just work eat sleep . Honest stuff ! As am new for alberta, please can some one mention the rural areas? Thanks
  5. My heart out to u all :))
  6. I wanna scream and shout and let it all out And scream and shout and let it out!!
  7. It seems to be quite deceiving by posting a lot of LPN positions on AHS now I feel if its same as ontario !! why did I even think to apply alberta lisence this is what I feel now so discouraged! #new grad from ontario .
  8. Am in the same boat I studied here and planing to apply my PR through Canadian experienced skilled class . Best bet at this point and time is Alberta , manitoba , sasketwan or new found land . It will be the worst decision going to ontario ! Very extra over populated and they don't favor fast PR . No jobs too!
  9. Where is the perfect life for an LPN? Alberta or Manitoba ? Job wise, security wise , weather wise and of course saving some bucks wise ? Thanks :))) PS AM A CONFUSED ONE ATM
  10. Thanks a lot every one for this information . Ill soon get this lisence and keep applying :) lets hope for the best . It's a motivation that there are still jobs in alberta unlike ON !! Lol!
  11. I LOVE all nurses !! Thanks a lot for the information . Yes I have already started applying for my transfer of LPN license . I was just worried because my contract here in the LTC gets over in April and I was feeling what if there are no jobs down there my transfer of license would be then in vain . I have started applying through AHS website since 3 weeks . No calls yet that was one reason that made me ask all those question :) Thanks a lot for writing back =D
  12. Hi nurses out there in Alberta!! I am a Recent graduate from a college in Toronto just passed my license last September 2012 and was hired through Health force ontario new grad initiative program for six months in a LTC . I am planing to move to Alberta because of the hospital experience that I want to gain and ontario is a very big challenge in getting a job esp. as a new grad in hospital . Please advice on the following : Should I transfer my license before I get a job ? Are there jobs in Alberta for a new grad ? And which places? ( preferably in Edmonton because my sis will be going to U of A ) 3 job search tips : in ontario people get jobs in the hospital by references and connections, and meeting managers in person . Does That also apply at alberta? 4) are there any new hospitals or centers that would look for an LPN? Any help would be a great help ! So confused on making a decision to move . Although I am a single and by myself here :) Thanks a lot in advance !!! =D
