  1. That is what I was thinking. I do plan on working in the clinical setting for a number of years. But I would like to move up the ladder as the opportunity presents its self. I would like to finish with school and focus on a career without having to go back to school.
  2. I will graduate in December and I am uncertain if I should get a BSN or just go strait for a MSN. There are options in my area to go from ADN to MSN. I could get a MSN with one additional year to the BSN program. I'm just looking for a little advice as to which direction to go in.
  3. I am in my second semester of clinical and feel lost. I doubt myself more often than not and feel that I am doing the correct thing. I made it thought my med surg rotation without much trouble, but just feel I haven't learned anything or like I know what I am doing. I can do an assessment and have a basic understanding of some blood work but I am so worried to miss something. This has really discouraged me and I have started to wonder if I made the right choice about nursing school. I love learning about caring for people but I am so worried to do something wrong or to not have the correct answer. I don't have a problem with my lab skills or exams, but when I get to clinical I could just cringe! I loved working with all different kinds of patients and meeting so many interesting people. Does this feeling go away and should I keep pushing myself or should I consider something else?
  4. I am in the same boat as you. I am in my second of four semester of clinicals. I feel like I can do basic skills and that is about it. I too have trouble if I am hearing the correct thing. I have had a few friends also say that it takes a good 1-2 years to feel comfortable after you graduate. Lets just hang in there and graduate and it will all fall into place afterward....hopefully
  5. Thursday I start my first rotation in acute care. I am scared out of my mind I am going to do something wrong or forget to do something. I feel like I have no idea what to do when I get there. I know I have done the skills in the lab but when I get to clinical I hate being just thrown into it. Any advice to get through the day?
  6. I just began my first semester of clinicals about two weeks ago. I have been able to pass 9 out of 12 of the first skills needed to enter the clinical setting. We started to do clients assessments this week but I am having trouble finding pulses!! It is very frustrating and makes me doubt my abilities as a future nurse. Also when trying to remember what to do next and remember the BP, pules rate and resp I get worried and my mind goes blank and I forget everything I just took. I'm wondering if this is just nerves or am I not cut out for this?
