pt falls
We have a 31 bed unit and our staffed about 4-5 sometimes 6 patients per nurse on days and one tech from 7-730 and a bath tech from 8-4 and no unit secratary . On nights the nurses have 4-6 often 5 or 6. And are lucky of they have one tech for the entire unit. Anyone who is not up ad lib such as 40 year old chest pain patients get bed alarms and we do yellow socks and hourly rounds

pt baths
I work in a hospital as a nurse where I use to work as a tech... in the last year the hospital has decreased the number of techs we have and I feel like it has had a big impact on our patients... when I can I try to help my techs and potty patients often but when it comes to baths I usually do not have time... although I do sometimes and if I do than I have no problem helping out... but if I don't do my pts baths, pottying, q2 turns, act then I don't always feel like its getting done and I have noticed that all my patients baths are not always done because the techs are under staffed... I really want any advice anyone has on how we can better pur practice to prove better pt care with less techs

new rn anxious
Wow I just read my last post! What horrible grammar lol, I wrote it at about 3 am my time lol... I guess what throws me off is when I have super " needy" pts that are always on there call lights... are techs are usually really busy and most if not my entire team are at high risk for fall risk so when they call out I really need to get in there right away... I have been on my own for a little over a month and I go home racking my brain about what I did wrong, was late on, or what I could have done differently... I know what needs to be done and what the priority is... I am just having a hard time when I am getting pulled different directions by call lights , family questions, drs rounding on pts, and social work rounding on pts... all these things seems to take forever and then I loose track of where I am at... some days I do better than other days but sometimes I just feel like I am so busy I am just going task to task and don't have the time to think about how to better schedule things. The day I was so late on antibiotics I honestly could not give an exact reason why I just know I was running my butt off all day with other antibiotics, heart rhythm issue, and frequent pain meds on a hospice patient.

I am in the process of writing my resume and i do jot know how many or what skills i should include. I have worked as a tech on tele and sicu and also did a nursing externship. I want a job in the icu. What kinds of skills or other things should I put on my resume that will increase my chances of an icu position?

wanting to return to my previous job?
I use to work at a hospital that I loved as a tech; it was a small community hospital. Just three months ago i moved to a bigger hospital because i could be a tech in the sicu and i thought that's what I wanted to do, but now I find myself not happy there. I wish I would have stayed at my previous hospital because the people and team work was amazing and now I miss it so much! I graduate in May so it is time to start applying for RN jobs. I need advice on how I can go about applying and convincing my previous hospital to rehire me? I worked there over two years and I left on good terms but I want them to take me serious.
